Assessment of Shock
Clinical assessment includes pulse rate, blood
pressure, respiratory rate and temperature
An electrocardiogram (ECG) provides evidence of
cardiac status
Venous blood samples
Grouping and cross-matching are done if
haemorrhage is the underlying problem
Blood sample for culture if sepsis is suspected
Urine output documented hourly
Monitor CVP
Blood gas analysis and arterial pH are done
