What is assessment?

We use the general term assessment


to refer to all those activities
undertaken by teachers -- and by
their students in assessing
themselves -- that provide
information to be used as
feedback to modify teaching and
learning activities.

quantitative and
qualitative data or
evidence of what a
student can do.

Philosophy
Assessment shall be used primarily
as a quality assurance tool to track
students progress in the attainment
of standards, promote self-reflection
and personal accountability for ones
learning, and provide a basis for the
profiling of student performance.
