Cutting and installation

-

Fitting the Decocrystal is a delicate procedure.

Consideration should be given for the following
points
- for the safety of the person performing the job and the
end user
- for safeguarding the paint
- for the appearance of the glass

Tips for installation

-

Fix glass to a clean, dry surface. Do not fit glass on

walls that could become damp
Pre treat the damaged surface with a primer before
fitting the glass
Ensure that the paint on the back side of the glass
is not scratched during the assembly and
installation process
Ensure that the glass is not wet during handling or
installation
Add skirting above the work surface if the
installation is near any heat source

Tips for installation

Smoothout any uneven wall surfaces before

installation
A smooth surface will ensure optimum adherence
of the glass
The glass must be protected to prevent water from
penetrating behind it
Ensure that the damp area is properly ventilated to
prevent water from collecting on the glass
The cutting table should be such that it will not
scratch the glass

Tips for installation

Precise measurements must be taken before

cutting the glass into the required dimensions
There are two ways of fitting the Decocrystal
glasses to the wall
- Bonding method using tile adhesive or silicone or
adhesive tape
- Mechanical method by screws, metal clips or fixing the
glass directly into a frame can be used for the installation

Q. What type of silicones can be used for fitting the

Decocrystal
A. In general, all alkoxy (neutral) silicones can be
used. Oxime based silicones can also be used. Do
not use MS polymer, rubber based and acetic acid
based silicones
