KU Leuven
KU Leuven, the oldest university of the Low Countries, is part of the city. Founded in 1425, KU
Leuven has been a center of learning for almost six centuries. It grew into one of the largest and
most renowned universities in Europe. Such a rich history has provided KU Leuven with its own
dynamic international dimension.
At present, over 40,000 students study at KU Leuven, around 12 % of whom are international
students.

In 2003, Nicholas Carr wrote an article in the
Harvard Business Review that questioned this
assumption.
The article, entitled IT Doesnt Matter, raised
the idea that information technology has become
just a commodity.
Instead of viewing technology as an investment
that will make a company stand out, it should be
seen as something like electricity: It should be
managed to reduce costs, ensure that it is
always running, and be as risk-free as possible.
