Alarms and indicators of an emergency, assume all alarms are real,
do not wait to make a safe orderly evacuation,
Egress Exit points, how to open exits, stress that the room may be
dark therefore calm and order are essential, assist each other
Assembly point location and that students must stay there until
wardens direct to either return or depart
Storage of student bags in designated area or in such fashion that
they are not trip hazards in an evacuation.
No eating, drinking, smoking, drug taking (unless specified)

Assessment
Assignment: 20%
The assignment is split up into 2 parts, each with a
different due date
The solutions to each question will need to be
submitted by the due date
You should place your assignment in the assignment
box which is located on level 2 of Building 19
Late submissions are accepted in accordance with
university policy, but do attract a penalty of 5% per
working day late up to a maximum of 25%. Of course
you can submit before the due date.

General rules
A scientific calculator is allowed (Casio FX-100, Casio FX-570, Sharp
EL520)

Formula sheet will be supplied


No notes permitted
No mobile phones

Assessment
Laboratories: 15%
It is important to note that you will need to print out the
necessary Lab Worksheet, which is available on the unit
website, and bring it along to your lab session,
You need to complete all 3 labs (and pass them)
complete all pre-lab exercises individually (i.e. not in a group),
wear enclosed shoes during lab classes otherwise you will not
be allowed to participate and will receive a mark of zero, and
ensure that you come prepared!

Assessment
Final exam: 50%
The final exam will cover the content of the entire
semester.
For the final exam you will be allowed a calculator :
Casio FX-100
Casio FX-570
Sharp EL520
Notes are not allowed.
Formula sheets will be provided.
