the Egiin gol project site.
The 5 species of rare and 4
species of very rare plants were
registered in the proposed
reservoir area, however these
species are distributed in other
areas of Mongolia.

Forestry offset and afforestation costs

In relation to EGHPP project implementation, working


group for the resettlement of the community of Khantai,
environmental
issues,
land
affair
arrangement
responsibilities has been established.
After conducting survey among the community, the new
Khantai community center has been identified and it is
located 4 km from the current center which is called the
Damirangiin enger.

SOCIAL IMPACT: Local community cooperation

closely with local community and

construction area of HPP and infrastructure

SOCIAL IMPACT: Survey


PIU conducted social surveys for purpose of providing
information and made observation on opinion about HPP,
focus group meeting and questionnaire among the
targeted local residents.
The result of focus group questionnaire represented that
insufficient information on renewable energy and HPP
among the 1250 people who were from urban and rural
community.
PIU has been developing detailed plan to cooperate with
the mass media such cognitive TV programs to give
general understanding about the hydropower plants.
Thus targeted groups understanding about HPP and
renewable energy have more accurate and positive
attitudes.

approved by MEGD in
2014.
