DEFINITION

:It refers to new or


inexperienced employees learning through
observing peers or managers performing the
job and trying to imitate their behavior.

ADVANTAGE

Generally more cost effective.


Gain direct experience to a standard approved by
the employer.
On the job training is also productive, as the
employee is still working as they are learning

OFF THE JOB TRAINING


DEFINITION :Employee training at a site away

from the actual work environment. However, offthe-job training programs may not provide as
much transfer of training to the actual job as do
on-the-job programs.
ADVANTAGE :
Wide range of skills or qualification can be obtained.
Learning can be done with the help of outside

specialist or experts.
Employees can be more confident when starting a

job.

Apprenticeship is a system of training a new


generation of practitioners of a skill. This
method of training is done in those trades,
crafts and technical fields in which a long period
is required for gaining proficiency.

combination of classroom and on-the-job


training. They are often used to train
prospective managers or marketing
personnel.

JOB ROTATION

Lectures
Lecture is a verbal presentation of information

by an instructor to a large audience. The


lecturer is presumed to possess a
considerable depth of knowledge of the
subject the subject at hand. A virtue of this
method s that it can be used for very large
groups , and hence the cost per trainee is low.
Example: method used in college and
university.

Multi Media Learning


It is a content that uses a combination of

different content forms such as text, audio ,


video , animation and interactive content
these forms are used for training purpose.
as demonstrated in a following video.

Simulation Training
A Simulator is any kind of equipment or

technique that duplicates as nearly as


possible the actual conditions encountered on
the job.
Simulation is an attempt to create a realistic
decision making environment for the trainee.
The more widely held simulation exercises are
case study and role playing.

Case Study
It is a written description of an actual situation

in business which provokes , in the reader the


need to decide what is going on, what the
situation really is or what the problems are,
and what can and should be done.

Role Playing
It generally focus on emotional(mainly human

relation) issues rather than actual ones. the


essence of role playing is to create a realistic
situation, as in case study , and then have the
trainees assume the part of specific
personalities in the situation.
