The vehicles climate-control system

The vehicle's climate-control system provides for the

following:
a comfortable climate for all passengers,
an environment calculated to minimize driver stress
and fatigue,
more recent units use filters to remove particulate
matter (pollen, dust) and even odors from the air,
good visibility through all windows, and windshield.

Increased levels of UV radiation

Effects on humans
Increased risk of all types of skin cancer
Increased risk of cataracts, which can lead to blindness

Effects on plant life

Plankton in the sea and some species of larvae may be killed off by
increasing levels of UV radiation.
The corrosive nature of ozone can damage plants and trees.
High levels of ozone in the troposphere can destroy agricultural
crops and forest vegetation.

The picture below shows the belt drive system that commonly
used in vehicle. This belt drives accesories from crackshaft such
as water pump, power steering pump, alternator and AC
compressor. The belt can be multi-belt or serpentine & adjusted
by tensioner / idler pulley

Rotary Motion Compressor

Scroll type Sanden
This compressor uses a unique design with two scrolls, one fixed and one is movable, both
are inter-leaved. The movable spiral is able to ORBIT or oscillate without actually fully
rotating. The movable scroll is connected to the input shaft via a concentric bearing. As the
movable spiral oscillates within the fixed spiral, a number of pockets are formed between
the spiral. As these pockets decrease in size the refrigerant is squeezed, the pressure
increases and is discharged through a reed valve at the discharge port in the rear section of
the compressor.

Rotary Vane Panasonic

Rotary vane compressors consist of a rotor with three or four vanes and rotor housing. As the
compressor shaft rotates, the vanes and housing form chambers. The R134a is drawn through the
suction port into these chambers, which become smaller as the rotor turns. The discharge port is
located at the point where the gas is fully compressed. The vanes are sealed against the rotor
housing by centrifugal force and lubricating oil. The oil sump and oil pump are located on the
discharge side, so that the high pressure forces oil through the oil pump and then onto the base of
the vanes keeping them sealed against the rotor housing.
During idle an occasional vane noise from the compressor may be heard. This is due to the time
taken for lubricating oil to circulate through the A/C system.

Compressor clutch
Most compressors use a three-part clutch: the
clutch plate (hub/armature), compressor shaft /
rotor, and field coil (magnetic).
The hub is attached to the compressor drive shaft.
It has a plate that is pulled against the rotor when
the clutch is applied.
The rotor is driven by the accessory drive belt; it is
mounted over the front of the compressor using a
bearing so it can rotate.
The coil becomes an electromagnet when current
is sent through it.
Magnetic Coil
In order for a relationship with a compressor
driving motor can be disconnected and connected
(when the AC is turned on and off), then we need a
magnetic coil mounted on the shaft, with pulley
wheel.
