And if I was female beforeIts the truth and nothing moreIt seems Ill have to re-create
Just how I did transmutate
From a woman to male:

Is, if Im not being importune,
The Mutation of Fortune.

The fame of a new spring has reached my ears, which broke out under the
hard roof of the winged horse of Medusa. This is the cause of my journey: I
wished to see this marvelous thing. The horse himself I saw born from his
mothers blood.
Ovid, Metamorphoses, translated by Frank Justus Miller (1916)
She long admired the spring made by the stroke of the horses roof; then looked
round on the ancient woods, the grottoes, and the grass, sprangled with countless
flowers.
