Chairperson

Dr Mrs. Sandhyashree Pathania obtained her PhD degree in the area of


Public Policy under the University Grants Commission Fellowship.

She has been teaching in the postgraduate department of Political Science


and Public Administration of a university.

has also carried out independent research in the areas of 'bureaucracy in


the developing societies, 'equity research for financial institutions, 'global
harmony through understanding of world religions, 'counseling and self
help'.

She has also worked as 'Director' of two community organizations based in


Toronto, (Canada) and introduced innovative programs for community
welfare.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To promote educational, social, cultural and economic welfare of the people.

To strive for uplifting the youth, especially women by promoting, establishing,


running, supporting, schools, colleges, technical and management institutes,
centers of fine arts, music, performing arts and other institutes of higher
learning and advancement.

To promote conservation of energy and to harness non-conventional sources


of energy.

To help the aged in need of shelter; medical help and physically and mentally
challenged.

To provide help to the people at the time of natural calamities.

Steps for Youth Education

A school, C'valik International School is running


at Dharamsala with this objective. Emphasis is
laid on the holistic growth of the children to be
groomed for taking on greater challenges in the
academic, competitive and other life situations in
the years to come, in their lives.

With a team of talented and dedicated teachers


and administrative officials, this initiative has
demonstrated an excellent impact of modern
methods of education on the children.

The entire management process of Cvalik Foundation is based on the principles of


good governance.

Policies and decisions are made through a four-tier system, namely departments &
divisions, executive committee, advisory body, and board of trustees.

The management, monitoring and accountability are governed by a four-tier audit


system, namely project audit, statutory audit, internal audit, and external impact
evaluation.

Optimum use of relevant technology is integrated with the whole system so as to


ensure impartial monitoring and optimisation of resource.

basic education and healthcare to
underprivileged children

At present, Cvalik Foundation has 12

Broad objectives:

to empower girl children from low socio-economic strata, enabling them to live with
dignity, improve health seeking behaviour, and function as change agents

Programme Objectives:

Self defence techniques, generating awareness Reproductive and Sexual Health


issues; covering Safe Motherhood, Child Health, Family Planning, RTI/STI, HIV/AIDS

Sensitizing adolescent girls on gender issues, Life Skill Education (LSE) including
communication and negotiation skills

Providing Reproductive and Child Health Services through Mobile Health Clinic for
currently married women, adolescents and children

SWABHIMAN
Direct beneficiaries:
Adolescent Girls (10-19 years)
Eligible Women (15-49 years)

Present coverage: 12 communities; 8,000 population

Action For Children

The programme sensitises and involves privileged mass in the


development process.

About 150 grassroots NGOs, 1,000 individuals, more than 1,200


students from many prominent educational institutes like, Tata
Institute of Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, etc
have already joined the programme.

Child For Child


Child For Child (CFC) is an endeavour to sensitize privileged school
children about their underprivileged counterparts, inculcate values, and
thus help them grow up as sensible citizens.

The motto is Catch them Young!

Cvalik Foundation is reaching out to more than 7,500 children


(including 4,500 girl children), 185 teachers across 15 schools through
the Child For Child (CFC) programme.
