After finished the 60% design review
and Completed the Major design work,
Isometric have to be start.

in order to minimize the time
consumption in Isometric Production &
optimizing the Process flow.
Opinions & Suggestions were resulted
from the below table (Brainstorming
session), out of which, High and
Moderate causes have been taken
based on past Project Experience for
Cause and Effect Diagram.

and High levels, following Percentage have been
arrived to main causes, appropriate percentage as

isometric production. So, we are taking isometric
flow process to further analysis with different

Based on Proposed Flow process, Isometrics were
undergone to Different Checking and Updating
Process.
As newly added in the Proposed process Area
Engineer has Checked the Final Isometrics before
issuing with High Responsibility.
Outcome of the Proposed one is Reach the
Expected one without affecting the Base
Ingredients.
By this Time Utilize to issue the Isometric is
Reduced to
3 hrs when compare with Current Process.

Time Reduction Calculation


For Single Isometric 3 hrs Saved.
For Refinery Project, Isometric Count
approximately
750 will be there.
Total time Reduction = 750 x 3 hrs
= 2250 hrs
This Leads to Cost Reduction of Project

Cost reduction calculation


For single isometric = 9950-8450
= Rs. 1500
For Refinery Project, Isometric Count approximately
750 will be there.
Total cost Reduction = 750 x 1500
= Rs. 11,25,000

Implementation
Proposed flow Process has been Passed to
Management level thro Lead Engineer
Explained about the New flow Process and Time
Reduction.
Before starting the isometric issue process over
all meeting to be conducted about describe the
New flow process by Lead engineer.
Do`s & not Do`s to be discussed.
After high level Discussion, New Process Would be
Considered and implemented in the next Project.

Additional Suggestion for


Improvement
P&id hard copies can be used for Checking &
Marking Instead of Soft copies.
P&id changes can be Updated in Hard Copy.
Vendor Drawing to be Referred from Document
Store where Latest is available.
Checker has to Check the Support Thoroughly in
Back checking stage.
Self Checking by Designer is Required.
Self Responsibility on Each Shoulders.

Conclusion
Isometric Flow is Improved with out any Technical
Ingredients Loss.
By Flow process improvisation Time Reduction
Takes place while issuing the Isometrics.
This Leads to save Man hours
Ultimately it Reduces the Project Cost.
