Emergency response requirements

Try to understand level and characteristics of the emergency before response

Try to find out the fastest and the most effective solution for the problem

Try to get some help from other faculty members near to the lab

An effective communication is required, when we call to any service. Which means it

should be concise, complete, clear and correct. Especially address should be very clear

Basic Arabic communication skills are very important

Door of the lab can be opened from outside only by the key

Lab is
located in
main
corridor ,
and exit of
the building
is very near

Safety of
General
Public

Name of
the lab is
clearly
tagged on
the door.

It is permissible to keep the door open during the

lab work, but at least one of the project member
should be in the lab

Responsibilities of the project

supervisors
Supervisors should teach students the right procure of the experiment
and proper using of the instruments, and show them at least one time
how to use the instrument and process the project.
During the lab work, supervisor should be around, and dont leave the
students alone more than 2 hours.
Supervisors should ask students to use proper PPEs during the lab
work, and nicely explain them how much important it is.
Everyday before leaving, one of the supervisors should check the lab to
make sure that everything is ok.

Requirement for working students

Students should wear lab coat and fully covered shoes

Students should work on working days only unless if there is
special case
They should use PPE tools, especially masks and gloves during
the lab work.
All the prepared samples should be labeled unless which is used
immediately
Students are not allowed to touch heaters, ovens and chemicals
directly.
Hot-resistant gloves should be near to heating devises for
emergency case

All the chemicals were delivered recently.

Each team should their own cabinet to store their

samples, and samples should be placed in
particular order which can be easily found

Each samples
should be labeled.
Label should
contain name of
the samples,
prepared date,
name of prepared
student and
supervisor

Sample
handling and
storage

Melted
samples are
usually very
hot, therefore
students should
be very careful

Although most of the chemicals used in the projects are

biocompatible, students should keep in mind that all the
chemicals are dangerous

Ideal Chemicals to wash residuals

They should react with the sample to produce soluble, low viscous product
They should not produce toxic, explosive or flammable gas after reacting
with samples
They should not react with air, water and steel

They should not poisonous, and better to be non corrosive

They should not be flammable and /or explosive
