Circuit breaker

An electrical power system needs some

switchgear, which is capable of making and
breaking an electric circuit under normal and
abnormal conditions such as short circuits.

Isolators

Isolators are used to making and breaking an electric

circuit under off load conditions.

Earth switch
The earth switch consists of a conductor
bar. When earth switch is to be closed,
these bars connect the contact on line
to earth
Earth switch is connected between the
line conductor and the earth normally
open. When the line is disconnected
the earth switch is closed so as to
discharge the voltage trapped on the
line after the CB and isolators are
