New Length
Gum height correction needed
Restore bite to allow improved
smile
• Front lower teeth are in contact with
excessively worn down upper front teeth.
• Restoring bite to proper height will allow for
room to place restorative material
• Opening bite can be accomplished with
crowns or braces
• Braces would be the best way to open the bite
Correct size, shape, color, and reduce
gingival display
• Current teeth are too short.
• Current teeth are too thin
• Current wear is excessive
• Current gum display is excessive
• Teeth can be whiter and brighter
• Placing all porcelain restorations on upper eight front
teeth will achieve proper size, shape, and color. This
will provide the most cosmetic result and protect
teeth from further erosion from acid.
Maintain Oral Health
Our goal is to not only give you the most cosmetically
pleasing result but also one that is the healthiest and most
long lasting.

Having healthy gums is a requirement even if you can’t see

the gums in the affected area.

Effective gum and tissue management treatment will

be needed to maintain healthy support for your
restorative needs including a bite guard to protect
your investment in your oral health.
Treatment Plan
1. Ortho consult with a specialist in Austin. Objectives – level and align arches,
develop arches to ideal contours; this should provide restorative room for
restorations, align the papilla, align free gingival margins, and develop the
buccal corridor.

2. Composite fillings on #12 and #19 to remove decay, obtain models to

prepare for proper tooth size.

3. Begin full upper and lower orthodontics

4. Once restorative room is achieved through the orthodontic process, remove

brackets on front teeth and restore length and inside areas with
composite buildups.

5. Finish braces with composite buildups in place.

6. 6 months after braces completed, begin porcelain restorations for eight

upper front teeth.

7. Full upper arch night guard after porcelain completed

Benefits
1. Provides for the most conservative treatment. More tooth structure
is preserved under this plan.

2. Corrects all areas needing treatment

3. Treatment is spread out over time allowing payment possibilities

4. Allows for the most cosmetic result.

5. Provides a porcelain barrier to help protect the teeth from further

erosion from acid.

6. Cost is actually less than other options

7. Reduces the need for additional gum surgery

Concerns
1. Requires orthodontic correction and
wearing braces

2. Requires increased number of appointments

3. Front teeth are not immediately corrected

4. Requires treatment at another office –

orthodontist

5. Treatment could take 24 months or more to

complete
