ACTIVITIES IN IUS

What is a club ?

Club is undergraduate
students organization

Clubs for college


experience outside of the
classroom by offering both
co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities
for students.

How? Getting involved on-campus and off-campus enriches your


college experience.

Last year there were 32 clubs but this year


ther are just 20 clubs. Here the name of clubs;

There 12 clubs still activating from the last year. There are; Yesevi Otagi Club,
Serenity Club, Intercultural Communication Club, African Students Association, Trekking
Club/ Pohiti Polahko (IUS TREK), Entrepreneurship Club of IUS, EMSA - European Muslim
Students Association, Palestinian Culture Club, Architecture Student Assembly, , Club of
Intellectual Activities and Performance Club.

We had some research and some interview


with clubs president about that clubs;
We asked clubs presidents
some question about their
clubs.
Here, some examples of IUS
clubs:

History Association Club: This

club aims to introduce importance


of history to the IUS student and all
people. Now there is 22 students
whose join in this club.

Architecture Student Assembly:

Aim is to organize architectural and


design lectures and conferences,
manage the activates within the
architecture department, organize
workshops they are vital to
students practical knowledge and
to provide supplementary
knowledge about diverse
architectural and design topics and
educate students about current
issues and standards in
architectural and design world.

There are only 10 member of ASA


club.

Protecting Animal Wellness and Nature (PAW-N):

Aim is improving conscience and mercy feeling among human and


animal. Building relationship human and nature. Giving information
about how to protect nature and helping, feeding animals. Showing
to people animals and plants are living things.

There are about 1800 people in IUS but just about there are 450
person member of clubs.

When we compare with another good quality university, for


example Cambridge University; there are 12.000 students and
there are 361 clubs. If we proportion with student number of
clubs there should be at least 55 clubs in IUS to be active level.

60 student which we interviewed them. There are just %24 students


member of clubs, the others, %76 students are not member of any club.

Most of students which are member of clubs, they


found that clubs from their friends. Also as you
see there are just %14 people found clubs from
internet or face book page and %15 people found
the clubs information by advertisement.
