COURSEWORK WITH MASTERS PROJECT


2 PARTS
Part I : CORE EDUCATION COURSEWORK (36 credits)
Students are required to take 12 taught courses and
obtain a CGPA of at least 2.90 for the 11 courses (except
Directed Reading).

Part 2 : *MASTERS PROJECT (6 credits)


Students are required to work on a research project under the
guidance of a supervisor appointed by OUM. The completed
research project will be assessed by the supervisor and a
reviewer.
Students may apply to take 2 additional courses in lieu of
Masters Project

Masters Project
Duration for Masters Project:
Minimum: 2 semesters
Maximum: 6 semesters (2 years).
Student must hand in the Masters Project, latest, by the end of
the 6th semester, failing which the student will be given a grade
F and he/she must re-register for Masters Project, which
involves the payment of full fees.
Students may apply to take 2 additional courses in lieu of Masters
Project. Two courses offered are Sociology of Education and
Educational Administration

possess 5 years experience in teaching or training

- Age = 35 years or above
- STPM or equivalent
- Experience & prior learning in the related field
- Assessment of Prior Learning

SELF-MANAGED LEARNING (90 hours - 75%)

SCHEDULED SEMINARS (15 hours per course - 12.5%)


Conducted by facilitators (professors/experts in the
industry). Seminars are held at LCs 5 times (3 hours
per course per seminar).

Online Learning Mode


This option is offered to candidates who is unable to
attend seminars or CGS is unable to offer the
programme in a particular learning centre
Learners will get an online facilitator specially
assigned to him/ her for the online courses
Learners will communicate with this facilitator
through online forum myLVE
Learners will submit continuous assessment
(assignments) to this facilitator and take the final
examination in learning centres of their choice

LANGUAGE:

Assignment questions are in English but exam
questions are in both English and Malay.
Students can answer assignment and exam
questions in English or Malay.
Research report may be written in English or Malay.
