STANDARD OPERATION PROCEDURE

DEPARTMENT : ENGINEERING

OUTLET : ENGINEERING

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE - GUEST ROOM

OBJECTIVE:
To ensure all equipments in the room are functioning and all materials are in
good condition
PROCEDURE:

Check the room status (occupied or vacant)


Ensure the tool box contains appropriate tools
Proceed the room maintenance only if the room is vacant dirty (VD)
Knock the door and say Engineering!, then wait 5 seconds; Knock the door and
say Engineering!, then wait 5 seconds; Knock the door and say Engineering!,
then wait 5 seconds. If there is no answer, then open the door slowly.

Focus on the work:


TV : check the power, check the sequence of TV channel, check the
quality of TV reception and liaise with TV provider, check the remote
control battery
AC : after checking the AC system, set the temperature on 24 and
fan on medium level and measure by using laser thermometer if there
is any discrepancy between the set temperature and the actual
temperature
Minibar fridge : check the thermostat and the evaporator, check
the noise level maximum, check the door hinges
Safety deposit box (SDB) : check the battery power, check the
electronic opening is functioning
Electrical : check the power, the electrical plug, the voltage, the
cable connection

Telephone and Data : check the telephone connection, the internet


cabling, the quality of TV reception
Fixture : ensure that all bulbs are functioning; check that the red
indicator of heat detector is functioning
Floor : ensure that the floor and the skirting are in a good condition
and clean
Wall : ensure that the wall is in a good condition and clean
Ceiling : ensure that the ceiling is in a good condition and clean
Door : ensure that the door handle, the door stopper, the door lock,
the door closer, the door hinges, the door view and the door surface
are functioning and in good conditions
Bell (if any) : check the battery and ensure that the bell is
functioning
Fill in the administrative documentation

HOTEL GLOSSARY
VC (Vacant Clean): Kondisi kamar setelah di make up dan general cleaning
oleh HK, tetapi belum di inspeksi oleh supervisor HK
VR (Vacant Ready): Kondisi kamar setelah di cek supervisor HK, siap untuk
dijual oleh FO.
OC (Occupied Clean): Kondisi kamar sudah ditempati oleh tamu kemudian
sudah dimake up oleh OK keesokan harinya.
OD (Occupied Dirty): Kondisi kamar sudah ditempati oleh tamu dan belum di
make up.
DND (Do not Disturb) : Kondisi suatu kamar dimana tamu tidak ingin diganggu
oleh siapapun.
EA (Expected Arrival) : Suatu keadaan pada tamu yang diharapkan
kedatangannya pada hari itu
ED (Expected Departure) : Suatu keadaan pada tamu yang diharapkan segera
check out pada hari itu
Skipper : Status tamu yang menginap di hotel yang belum menyelesaikan
pembayaran deposit
Walk In Guest : Tamu yang memesan kamar langsung ke hotel tanpa
reservasi
