Challenging gifted students in

regular classrooms:
Research

tells us that a large majority of gifted

and talented students spend most of their day in
regular classroom settings. Unfortunately,
instruction in the regular classroom setting is
generally not tailored to meet their unique needs
This situation is putting gifted students at risk of
failing to achieve their potential. Achievement
scores below what might be expected from our
brightest population provide the evidence.

Conclusion:
In

the end, from our researches we realized that

talented and gifted children have lots of
characteristics such as being able to work in an
independent way, be self-critical and able to motivate
themselves. But a good deal of the burden fall on the
teacher, if the teacher fails to provide the necessary
environment that suits the childrens need, they will
face difficulties and eventually they wont reach their
potentials. We confess that it seems to be a very
complicated task, but the teacher will have to try her
best.
