solution:
The missing letter on the first row is
H and the missing letter on the third
row is L. Beginning from the top right
corner, when you begin clockwise,
you will have the word Avalanche.
Solution:
This sequence is a bit tricky while you may be
running in myriad directions, the actual trick to
solve this sequence might as well prove to be a bit
annoying to you.
So what do we have common in the physical
appearance of all the letters of the sequence? Did
you think that all of them are made with straight
lines?
Consider the in between letters - B, C, D and G. All
of them require curvy lines to write but A, E, F and
H can be written with straight lines.Thus the next
letter in the sequence will be 'I'.
Solution:
Let us begin solving the problem by denoting
a simple letter to all the three sides of the
triangle
Let base be (b), perpendicular be (p) and
hypotenuse be (h)
Now glance over the given condition
according to which h^2 = 2b*p
or b^2 + p^2 = 2b*p
or (b-p)^2 = 0
or b = p
Thus the triangle is an isosceles one with the
angle = 45 degrees
So, option (a) is correct
Solution:
6pm
Explanation:
The time after 24, 000, 000 hours will be
the same as it is now. We want the time 3
hours before that and thus you can
deduct three hours from 9 pm. So the
time will be 6 pm.
( ) + ( ) + ( ) + ( ) + ( ) = 30
This is what you have for equation. The
following are the numbers that you can use
to fill in the brackets:
1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15
You can repeat the numbers if required. The
resulting sum should be 30.
This question appeared in the UPSC final
examination in December 2013. Out of all
the people who appeared, only one guy was
able to solve this namely Gaurav Agarwal.
Solution:
There is no mention if you can use sign or
not and thus the only possible way to get
this is as follows:
(15 - 9) + (13 - 7) + (7 - 1) + (9 - 1) + (13
- 9)
If you solve inside the brackets, you will
get the following equation
6+6+6+8+4
Adding all these numbers, you will get 30
which is the required sum.

Solution:
To make things easier, let us just denote each
box with the help of R number and C number i.e.
the row number and the column number.
The rule that has been
R4C1 = (R1C1 * R3C1)
R4C2 = (R1C2 * R3C2)
R4C3 = (R1C3 * R3C3)
Solution:
If you have come up with the fact that the bugs can avoid
the collision only when they decide to move in the same
direction be it clockwise or anti clockwise, you have already
solved half of it. In any other way, the bugs will definitely
run into each other.
Now the bugs can move either clockwise or anti-clockwise.
The probability of choosing a specific direction is then 1/2.
We will utilize the simple equation of probability to find out
our answer
P(No Collision) = P (The bugs move in clockwise direction)
+ P(The bugs move in anti-clockwise direction)
= 0.5 * 0.5 * 0.5 + 0.5 * 0.5 * 0.5
= 0.25
Thus the probability that the bugs won't collide into each
other is 0.25 or 1/4.
Solution:
30
Explanation :
It can be divided into 2 series
A) 2 6 12 20 ?
B) 7 14 28 56
Series A is related to our answer =>
2
6 (+4)
12(+6)
20(+8)
30(+10)
solution:
1500
Explanation:
As we know, n(A n B)=n(A)+n(B)-n(A U B)
=> n(A) = 0.75x7500 = 5625.
and n(B) = 0.45x7500 = 3375
n(A U B)= 7500
=> Ans is 5625+3375-7500 =
1500(Answer)
