Sociedad de Clasificacin
Concepto:
Organizacin internacional sin fines
de lucro que a travs de normativas de la OMI o
propias, regula, sugiere y controla las
caractersticas de construccin, equipos y
sistemas para asegurar el transporte de la
carga y la vida de la tripulacin en el mar. De
esta manera las compaas aseguradoras
cubren o no la nave y su carga.

Sociedad de Clasificacin
Las Sociedades de Clasificacin son
organizaciones no gubernamentales o grupos de
profesionales sin nimo de lucro, con el objetivo de
promover la seguridad de la vida humana y
propiedades (buques y plataformas offshore) as
como la proteccin del entorno natural marino. Esto
se consigue gracias al desarrollo de
Reglas de Clasificacin , la confirmacin de que el
diseo de los buques cumple con dichas reglas, la
inspeccin de los buques durante el periodo de
construccin y las inspecciones peridicas para
confirmar que los buques continan cumpliendo

inicialmente con las siete sociedades
lderes en 1968. Actualmente sus

Control station 4-1-1/1.9.1
A location where controllers or actuator are fitted, with
monitoring devices, as appropriate, for purposes of
effecting desired operation of specific machinery.
Control Station is defined exclusively for purposes of
Section 4-4-7 Fire Safety Systems, as intended by
SOLAS, see 4-7-1/11.21.
Centralized Control Station is used in Section 4-4-9
Remote Propulsion Control and Automation to refer to
the space or the location where the following functions
are centralized:
controlling propulsion and auxiliary machinery,
monitoring propulsion and auxiliary machinery, and

5.1 Salt Water Ballast Spaces, Vessels without ESP
Notation 7-2-3/5.1
The following items are to be examined and placed in
satisfactory condition.5.1.1 7-2-3/5.1.1

For vessels over 5 years of age an overall survey of a


minimum of 3 representative salt water ballast spaces
selected by the Surveyor is to be carried out. Where poor
coating condition is found, where soft coating has been
applied, or where a protective coating has not been applied, the examination is to be extended to other ballast
spaces of the same type. For vessels more than 10 years
of age, all ballast tanks are to be examined.

If such examinations reveal no visible structural
defects, the examination may be limited to a
determination that the protective coating remains
effective.

For tankers without ESP notation, in addition to
items of 7-2-3/5.1, at each Intermediate Sur-vey
after Special Periodical SurveyHull No. 2, at
least three cargo tanks: one center, one port
wing, and one starboard wing, are to be
