For the remaining slides on my
application I will talk about planning
and running a town hall meeting. I am in
the process of planning one about alcohol
with the help of Ms. Briley, but the
meeting is not until April 8th so I do not
have all of my information regarding this
yet.
Class Activity Ideas

1. Students will watch three different Public Service

Announcements - one from television, one from the
drugfreeworld.org“they lied” campaign, and another that I found
online. We will then discuss which one they found to be the most
effective and why.

2. I will provide the class with index cards describing the effects
of certain drugs, and post the matching drugs on index cards on the
board. Students will then try to match the drug effects to the
drug and I will talk about the effects of each in more detail.

3. There are countless arguments on either side of the argument on

whether or not the drinking age in America should be 21, (brain
damage, responsible drinking, etc) and America is one of only four
countries in the world with a drinking age that high. For the
class activity students will debate whether they think the
drinking age should stay 21 or be lowered, and what effect that
could have in our country.
