Getting Started
• Start software and move/dock toolbar
Toolbar can be customized. We’ll look at that
when you are more familiar with the software.
• Click on arrow to the left of the word TextHELP
• Select Current Toolbar and click on all
features

• Open Microsoft Word-watch demo-p 7
• Now you type: Karyn-click play speech button
• Now type the following:
“ I went to visit my sister Karyn in New York this
sumer. We went to see the Statu of Liberte
one day.”
• Place curser in the first sentence or highlight both
sentences.
• Click on the green “Play Speech Button.”
• Try the rewind, pause, stop buttons
• Click drop down menu, choose “speak as I type” and try it
• All functions have videos-let’s look at this one

Go back to your Word document. Use Spell Check
to spell check selected words, your entire
document or as you type.
 Highlight the word you want to check or
have your curser in the document.
 Click on the “Spell Check” icon.
 The Spell Helper window will appear.

remember.
•Search for words using opposites or other
relationships. Unlike a thesaurus, it gives you
words that are associated with the word, not
just synonyms.

Prediction (Cont)
• Have your Word Document open.
• Click on the “Prediction Button”. You will
see the Prediction window appear.
• Type two more sentences using the
Prediction feature. Be sure to check the
dictionary feature by hovering over the
predicted word until the dictionary appears
and click on it to get the meanings of the
word.

How to capture facts:
• Try it now. Use Fact Finder to find text
and then Fact Folder to organize
information and find another.
– Highlight the text to capture and click on the
“Fact Folder” icon on the toolbar.
– Complete the Fact Details (Title, Date, Author,
Category, etc.)
– Click OK

Capturing a Graphic:
• Open a web page containing a graphic.
• Click on the “Fact Folder” drop-down
menu and select Add web image.
• The TextHELP Web Hover box will appear
in lower right hand corner.
• Hover over graphic until it appears in the
box. Click on the image to capture it.
• Fill out the Fact Detail information and
click OK.

Reviewing the Facts
• Click on the drop-down list of the Fact Folder
icon.
• Select Review Facts option.
• You can select a Fact to
preview it in the Preview Pane.
• Delete, edit or add facts using
toolbar icons
• Click Word icon to export to
Word and print.

It can then be converted into a sound file

• Click on Screenshot Reader and draw a
box around info you want read
• It can also be set to appear in a separate
box. The box and the way it appears can
be changed in the Screenshot Reader
