ABOUT TITAN
TitanCompany brought about a paradigm shift in the Indian watch market when it
introduced its futuristic quartz technology, complemented by international
styling.
Four divisions Watches and accessories, Jewelry, Eyewear, Precision Engineering
Titan is owned by the TATA Group which has a very strong presence in the society
and is associated as a company that looks after the society and gives back to the
society.
TitanCompany is the fifth largest integrated own brand watch manufacturer in
the world.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Titan plans to leverage the skills and competencies of people, financial


resources as well as the infrastructure and relationships of the Company
with the customers and the community in order to excel and maximize its
impact.

The main focus of Titan with respect to its CSR activities lies in the area of
women empowerment, upliftment of the underprivileged girl child, skill
development and support for Indian Arts, Crafts and Indian Heritage.

During the Financial Year 2013-14, Rs.12.32 crores has been spent on the
CSR activities in areas of Education, Employability & Skill Building.

TITAN KANYA
Emerging as a flagship Pan-India CSR
initiative,
involving
the
Company,
employees
and
their
Business
Associates, Titan Company seeks to
empower the underprivileged girl child
through education.
Working with two NGOs of all India reach
and repute the KC Mahindra Education
Trust (Nanhi Kali program) and IIMPACT,
the programme, has on date about 9263
girl children who are being provided with
a window of opportunity

UNNATI

Unnati, an NGO helps youngsters below the poverty


line through free vocational training programme that
ensure 100% placement.

A 50 day programme designed for unemployed youth


(18 yrs. & above) with vocational skills and life-skills
and ensures employment with reputed organisations.

Currently, the training is offered in the areas of retail


sales, field sales, guest care (hotels), guest care
(offices), Watch Service. 44 students were trained and
placed in the current year.

PORGAI

As part of the support for the arts and crafts communities of India, Titan
extended its support for a group of tribal women called Porgai, who
practice embroidery.

Settled in Sittlingi valley, Dharmapuri District in Tamil Nadu, the women


are being supported for design development, training, upskilling etc. to
revive the craft and create livelihoods.

Programme

Titan has embarked on this phenomenal


exercise in line with the vision 2020
programme of WHO in tie-up with Institutes
of national stature such as Sankara
Eyecare, Narayana Nethralaya, Nirmal Eye
Care, Drishti and Sankar Netralaya and has
rolled out the programs in the districts of
Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Karnataka.

Through this programme Titan has reached


out to more than a lakh children and adults
and provided them support for spectacles,
medicines and surgeries during the year
2014-15.

SUSTAINABILITY CHALLENGES

Materiality analysis is a procedure to define what is strategically


important for the company, where to allocate resources and what to
manage with an overall view to improve process and performance.

It is an important first step towards integrated financial and nonfinancial thinking, management and performance.

Designing fair remuneration structures and reward and recognition


mechanisms that promote high performance and reinforce positive
behaviours, while shielding employees from short term market
variations.

INTEGRATING SUSTAINABILITY

Titan has a project under which it provides support to differently abled


people. It not only supports these people but also empowers them so that
they can become independent.

MEADOWs stands for Management of Enterprise and Development of


Women - the underprivileged women are imparted with skills such that they
can provide various services to customers and can become independent.

Titan has also taken an initiative to solve the problem of impure water and
absence of sanitation in the state of Uttarakhand. They have established a
long term engagement with the people of the state to provide proper
drinking water and sanitation facilities to the residents.

TARGETS AND GOALS

Titan boasts of a very strong Code of Conduct. During the year, Titan
has managed to resolve all the cases of sexual harassment that were
reported and has efficiently managed its grievance redressal
mechanism.

The company has taken steps towards decreasing its energy


consumption. It has issued a directive under which all the retail stores of
the company are supposed to replace their lighting by LED lights.

Titan has an initiative for career and educational counselling. Under this
initiative children are provided counselling on the basis of their interests
and academic strength.
