FRAME DESIGN AND FEA

MATERIAL SELECTION
CRITERIA
AISI 1239 tubes are selected to
fabricate the chassis.
Reasons supporting the choice:

Materia
l

Good yield strength; Will allow the

usage of tubing with smaller wall
thickness, in turn reduces the weight of
chassis.

COMMERCIAL FEASIBILITY
The vehicle has been designed in such a way that the vehicle
can be commercially used for various purposes.
The features that support its commercial feasibility are listed
below:
Ergonomic Design: The vehicle has been designed ergonomically

for two adult drivers of normal height and weight.

Easy Handling: For people of all age groups. Older people can

comfortably drive in upright position.

Easy Steering: Lesser weight, higher strength. Hence, easy to

steer in crowded areas in day to day life. These are suitable for long
distance rides with minimum effort.
Safety: Vehicle well equipped with safety features like disc brakes,

horn, belt, light, rear view mirror, shock absorber. The roll over test
of the vehicle ensures the safety of drivers during an accident.

SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION
Suitable for modern day traffic: Takes less space
consuming in highly dense traffic on roads of today.
Most suitable.
Patrolling by law enforcement: In public places like
parks, markets and airport.
In the rural landscape: For families that cannot afford
a car but need a mode of transport within their village.
In urban markets: Environment friendly alternative to
a car. The modern generation is concerned about the
environment. They would definitely like to explore
cleaner options if they are marketed properly.

COMMERCIAL FEASIBILITY
Comfort: The riding position reduces strain on the body. It is

suitable for long rides and touring. It can be very easy on the
neck, wrists, hands, arms, shoulders, lower back.
Lesser Effort: Power available from both the drivers reduces
the net effort from each driver during covering a large
distance.

Low maintenance cost and compact structure: Due to

simple design of the vehicle, the maintenance cost of the
vehicle is quite low.

Eco friendly vehicle: Causes no pollution. Hence, it does

not harm the environment.
