CITY PORTAL WITH PHP AND MY SQL

Abstract:

This project is a real time application, entitled with today

Coimbatore with the front end as php, and my sql & xml
which serves as the backend.
It is as like a social media, which serves for different kind
of purpose.
People can post their institutional or organizational events
in and around Coimbatore.
The users or the participants can go into the application
using an id and can register their interest to participate in
the events that are posted.

Usually if the people need to participate in an institutional

event, they need to know the website address which is

specially created for the purpose of the event.
But here, by getting into the application, one can look into
the events that are in and around Coimbatore.
This application is not only meant for events, but also it
gives, the daily information and the news that are
happening in Coimbatore.

Project Frontend
PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor:
Front-end or client-side development is a
relatively obscure Internet discipline. Historically,
this role has been known under several aliases,
htmler, web designer, coder, frontender and so
on, but its core functions remain the same while
expanding with the progress of the Internet. It is
a hinge role that requires both aesthetic
sensitivity and programmatic rigor.

PHP has come a long way since its birth in

the mid-1990's. From Humble beginnings to
becoming one of the most prominent languages
powering the web, the evolution of PHP is a
geek's fairy tale. Mind you, such explosive
growth was no easy task.
PHP is free software released under the PHP License,
which is incompatible with the GNU General Public
License (GPL) due to restrictions on the usage of the
term PHP. PHP can be deployed on most web servers
and also as a standalone shell on almost every
operating system and platform, free of charge

Project Backend
Structured Query Language:
My SQL is a relational database
management system (RDBMS), and ships with no GUI
tools to administer My SQL databases or manage
data contained within the databases. Users may use
the included command line tools or use My SQL
"front-ends", desktop software and web applications
that create and manage My SQL databases, build
database structures, back up data, inspect status,
and work with data records] The official set of My SQL
front-end tools, My SQL Workbench is actively
developed by Oracle, and is freely available for use.

My SQL is a popular choice of database for

use in web applications, and is a central
component of the widely used LAMP open
source web application software stack (and
other 'AMP' stacks). LAMP is an acronym for
"Linux, Apache,
My SQL, Perl/PHP/Python." Free-softwareopen source projects that require a fullfeatured database management system
often use My SQL.

Existing System :
So far, if we want to know the news happening

around us, we need to buy the newspaper. If we

want to participate in any organizational or
institutional events, we need to know their
complete website address, and should register
our interest of participation.

But this will take so much time to complete. Not

for event, but also it gives, the daily information

and the news that are happening in Coimbatore.

Proposed system:
This application serves the people with a day to

day information that are happening in and

around Coimbatore. That is, it gives the
information about the institution, which has the
upcoming events.

It also provides convenience for registering our

interest of participation. There is no such

application, which gives all sort of information in
Coimbatore. That is, is a all in one application.
