1. General Idea
To

design a battery-less system

High voltage and transformer
less solar inverter
Cost effective
Efficient
Continuous supply of power
without any interruption(daytime)

Conventional Systems
(1KW)
Battery bank may cost 15,000 PKR.
Most of the price in an inverter is covered by
its transformer. A transformer in each system
takes approximately 5,500 PKR to make 1K W
system.

Motivation / Aim
Usage

of high input voltage

To overcome the Battery issue
Transformer-less inverter
Less maintenance
To minimize the price
Energy Efficient System

4/13/15

Our System (1KW)

No cost of batteries (saves 15,000 PKR)
No cost of Transformers (saves 5,500
PKR)
Less heavier, easily portable
Buck-Boost converter for regulation
Transformer-less inverter due to high
input voltage

4. Impact
Enhancement in power Engineering:
Enlargement and application of our planned
project would not only give the investigators and
students a chance to go in depth about the study
and visualization of the modern concepts of power
engineering
Large scale:
It will let the Engineers all across Pakistan to think
about same sort of idea on a larger scale.
Renewal energy
These phases, would provide us a path on walk on
for the further development of renewal energy
sources with least environment damage

6. Solar Panels
Solar Panel can be designed by 4
types of solar cells
1-Mono crystalline solar cell
2-Poly crystalline solar cell
3-All black and
4-Hybrid
In our project we are using that
solar panels which consists of
mono crystalline solar cells

Benefits of Mono crystalline Solar

Panels over others

Some

solat websites suggest

that single crystalline solar
panels can last up to 50
years.
They have high efficiency.
Greater Heat Resistance.

Buck-boost Regulator:
A

Buck-Boost converter is a type

of switched mode power supply
that combines the principles of
the Buck Converter and the Boost
Converterin a single circuit. It
provides a regulated DC output
voltage from either an AC or a DC
input.

Inverters
Input voltage

12 VDC, for smaller consumer and

commercial inverters that typically run
from a rechargeable 12V lead acid battery.
24 and 48 VDC, which are common
standards for home energy systems.
200 to 400 VDC, when high power
output is required
