INTRODUCTION
An Old Age Home is usually the place, a home
for those old people who have no one to
look after them. The place is of course like
home where the inmates get all the facilities
for a routine living like food, clothing and
shelter. It gives home like feeling for the
IMPORTANCE
elderly people.
Old Age Homes are increasing in number day
by day. Also, according to statistics, the world
will have more older people than children. In
this scenario, Old Age Homes are helpful for
the elder people and the inmates are taken
care of by the concerned authorities by
looking after their all needs very well. India is
one of the few countries that is witnessing the
severe need for old age homes due to change
of mindset of youngsters, increasing nuclear
families and increase in no. of youngsters

working abroad.
To design an Old Age Home for elderly
persons giving them a homely experience
To integrate barrier free aspects of design
to make the Old Age Home a better place to
live in.
To give recreation and retreat to the
elderly people and improve their
psychological situation.

OBJECTIVE
To establish active advocacy at various
levels of planning
To reorganize facilities and approach to
give a integrated design approach.
To consider functional efficiency of spaces
and providing user friendly facilities
To keep in mind issues of circulation ,
pedestrian access and usage patterns as an
integral part of design.
To make sure the presence of natural
security and integration of nature into the
built space.
To evolve and innovate new spaces that
serve as a visual retreat and also as
SCOPE
relaxation buffers.
