Single User Stationary Test

> Test single user throughput at various locations for UDP
Protocol
> Verify RF coverage at each location
> Measure uplink and downlink throughput for both indoor
and outdoor locations
> DL MCS configuration = QPSK1/2 and 16QAM1/2
> UL MCS configuration = QPSK1/2
> MTU size = 1360 Bytes
> UDP data size = 512 Bytes
> Maximum UDP send rate:
DL - 5Mbps
UL - 800kbps

Stationary Test Observations

> With N=1, ranging and network entry was difficult even in
good CINR (~15dB). This was seen more in NLOS near
sector boundary.
> When co-channels were offline, ranging and network entry
success rate improved.
> Indoor locations mainly consisted of small 2x2x3m
convenient store enclosed in thick concrete blocks.

Mobility Test Observations

> Drive route morphology consisted of main streets (max
speed 60Km/hr), parks and dense urban clutter with low
roof lines, narrow streets and thick concrete walls.
> Drive test results showed maximum download throughput
was achievable with good CINR and LOS.
> TL3 trial load does not support true Handover, but rather
a Break and Make principle:
MS drops connection from serving sector and re-scan for new best
server.

> No attempts were made to test BTS-to-BTS handover.

Mobility Test Observations (Contd)

> Handover from sector-to-sector takes approximately 4 to
6 sec.
> With authentication turned on, Handover from sector-tosector took an additional 3 to 4 seconds.
> Pinging success rate was limited to 20% at approximately
600m from predicted cell edge.
> Pinging success was intermittent and dependent on
CINR / RSSI condition. However, last successful ping
occurred approximately 500m from predicted cell edge
(1.4Km distance).
