Aprendizagem e adaptao
Dois tipos predominantes de adaptao do
comportamento ao meio:
1. Evoluo (estruturas inatas):
Atravs da evoluo, as presses ambientais
seleccionam determinados traos comportamentais
que se transmitem de gerao em gerao,
formando a herana gentica da espcie (ex. reflexo
de suco)
2. Aprendizagem (estruturas adquiridas):
Atravs da aprendizagem, o organismo adapta o seu
comportamento (sensrio-motor ou cognitivo) s
caractersticas de um meio em mutao
permanente.
Cognitivismo (1950-)
Reconhecimento da interveno de processos mentais no
comportamento (a aprendizagem implica actividade do sujeito:
organizao, estruturao, processamento ou construo de
informao)
Aprendizagem torna-se indissocivel da memria
Definies
Aprendizagem o processo pelo qual mudanas
duradoiras ocorrem no potencial comportamental
como consequncia da experincia.
Memria a reteno da experincia (a mudana
cognitiva) subjacente Aprendizagem.
Aprendizagem o processo; Memria o resultado do
processo.
Aprendizagem: Potencial comportamental, distinto de
performance comportamental efectiva.
Aprendizagem refere-se ao processo de adaptao do
comportamento experincia e memria refere-se ao
registo cognitivo que sustm essa adaptao.

F. Bartlett (1932). Remembering:
A Study in and Social Experimental Study.
One of his most famous studies cast considerable light on the formation of
memory. He composed a series of short fables (the best known was called
The War of the Ghosts), each of which comprised a sequence of events which
were ostensibly logical but subtly illogical, and there were several discreet
non-sequiturs.
He would recite this story to subjects, then later (sometimes much later) ask
them to recall as much of it as possible.
He discovered that most people found it extremely difficult to recall the story
exactly, even after repeated readings, and hypothesised that, where the
elements of the story failed to fit into the schemata of the listener, these
elements were omitted from the recollection, or transformed into more
familiar forms.

J. B. WATSON (1878-1958):
Behaviorism
Psychology as the behaviorist views it
Psychology as the behaviorist views it is a purely objective
experimental branch of natural science.
Its theoretical goal is the prediction and control of behavior.
Introspection forms no essential part of its methods, nor
is the scientific value of its data dependent upon the
readiness with which they lend themselves to
interpretation in terms of consciousness.
The behaviorist, in his efforts to get a unitary scheme of
animal response, recognizes no dividing line between
man and brute.
The behavior of man, with all of its refinement and
complexity, forms only a part of the behaviorist's total
scheme of investigation.

. . . a brain is required to write a
theory of a brain. From this follows
that a theory of the brain, that has
any aspirations for completeness,
has to account for the writing of this
theory. And even more fascinating,
the writer of this theory has to
account for her or himself.
Translated into the domain of
cybernetics; the cybernetician, by
entering his own domain, has to
account for his or her own activity.
Cybernetics then becomes

second-order cybernetics.

Metacognio
Metacognition refers to ones knowledge concerning ones
own cognitive processes or anything related to them, e.g.,
the learning-relevant properties of information or data. For
example, I am engaging in metacognition if I notice that I
am having more trouble learning A than B; if it strikes me
that I should double check C before accepting it as fact.J.

The original model of Baddeley & Hitch was composed of three main components;
the central executive which acts as supervisory system and controls the flow of
information from and to its slave systems: the phonological loop and the visuo-spatial
sketchpad. The slave systems are short-term storage systems dedicated to a content
domain (verbal and visuo-spatial, respectively). In 2000 Baddeley added a third slave
system to his model, the episodic buffer.

ACT-R (2)
There are two types of modules:
Perceptual-motor modules, which take care of the interface
with the real world (i.e., with a simulation of the real
world). The most well-developed perceptual-motor
modules in ACT-R are the visual and the manual modules.
Memory modules. There are two kinds of memory modules in
ACT-R:
Declarative memory, consisting of facts such as Washington,
D.C. is the capital of United States, France is a country in Europe,
or 2+3=5
Procedural memory, made of productions. Productions
represent knowledge about how we do things: for instance,
knowledge about how to type the letter "Q" on a keyboard,
about how to drive, or about how to perform addition.
Amnesia:
Retrograde and Anterograde Amnesia
Generation effect
Zeigarnik effect (open task)
Egocentric or self-serving bias
Consistency bias
Fading affect bias
Self-relevance effect
Hindsight bias
Positive change bias
