PHYSICAL NEEDS
Growing
a. FOOD
It is very important to all of us. It serves as fuel for us
just as gasoline does for a car.
It is a source of heat energy that keeps our body
warm. It gives our muscles energy to move.
2. Carbohydrates
It gives our body energy. Rice, corn, bread,
potatoes, and sugar are rich in carbohydrates.
3. Fats
It provides as with twice as much energy as
carbohydrate. Fats are stores in the body to be
used later. Too much fats causes obesity and heart
problems.
4. Vitamins
are need in small amounts to help our body
work properly. Fresh fruits and vegetables are rich
in vitamins
5. Minerals
are need in small amounts by different parts of
the body. Calcium is used for building bones and
teeth. Iron helps the blood carry oxygen to body
cells. Eggs, fish, liver, and milk contains mineral.
Undernourishment
Is a form of malnutrition. It deprives the body
of the nutrients it needs.
Poor diets
Also affect the growth of children. A baby

food may have some brain damage.
Obesity
Is a condition of being very fat.

Your body has other needs to make it healthy. It has
mental needs to keep your mind healthy. It has
emotional and social needs to enable you to live well
with others. This include your family, playmates,
schoolmates and others.
EXPRESSING FEELINGS
You express different feelings for different situations. You show
feelings of joy when get good news and sadness for bad news.
The most common feelings are joy, sadness, anger, and fear.
Strong feelings are called emotions.
Joy is a strong feeling of happiness.
When somebody in the family is sick, the whole family is sad.
