FLEXIBILIDAD
Los tractores y carcasas de tambor de corte Roadtec son manufacturados y
ensamblados separadamente. El contratista puede elegir varios arreglos y anchos
de tambor de corte al adquirir su equipo. Cambiar los tambores es rpido y fcil y

assembly to allow for quickly
changing cutter patterns and widths.
The housing is placed under the
tractor and drawn into final position
thru the use of eight tapered bolts.
Water and
hydraulic lines are
all fitted with
quick couple
connectors to
speed the
changeover
process. Special
purpose trailers
are also available
to speed
changeover
time. Changeable
cutter assemblies
ensure maximum
utilization of cold
planing equipment.
The most popular style cutter is the traditional
pattern. This cutter pattern dictates a finish
milled surface with grooves spaced 5/8 apart.
This pattern is the industry standard for milling
for overlay. It permits high production with an
acceptable temporary driving surface. The finish
pattern provides an excellent bonding surface for
any new asphalt overlay. This pattern choice is
best used in cuts from 0 to 8 deep. ..
ARREGLO DE TAMBOR
The cutter pattern is determined by the number of carbide cutter
teeth placed on the mandrel. More teeth dictate a finer pattern but
reduce production. Fewer teeth dictate a coarser pattern but increase
production. Three pattern choices are available for all Roadtec cutter
drums: Traditional, Profiling and Excavating. The contractors choice in
selecting a pattern is determined by the work expected.
CORTE TRADICIONAL
PERFILADO
Profiling is best described as a fine textured
version of the traditional pattern. More cutter
teeth are placed on the mandrel to provide a
pattern spacing of 3/8 . This pattern provides an
excellent finish surface for driving with or
without overlay. However, the higher tooth count
necessary to accomplish this finer textured
pattern reduces production. Therefore this
pattern choice is best used on cuts of less than 2
deep.
EXCAVACION
The excavating pattern choice provides a
coarser spacing but permits a significant
increase to production. This pattern choice
is used where full depth removal is desired.
It essentially converts a standard milling
tractor into a Horizontal Excavator
where strip milling and high production is
the primary intent. This pattern choice is
best used on removal depths from 6 to 12.

COMPONENTES
Every Roadtec cutter drum comes standard with a Quick
Change cutter system and off-set flighting to minimize wear
and reduce down time and repair costs. Broken tooth
holders are quickly replaced with no welding and no bolts.

Fresado Bi-direccional
El fresado Bi-direccional es mejor descrito como la habilidad de fresar en dos
direcciones opuestas para lograr distintos resultados. Fresado tradicional es logrado
con un corte hacia arriba. La mayora de fresadoras cortan hacia arriba y tienen carga
frontal. Equipo especial es disponible permitiendo corte hacia abajo y carga posterior
usando el mismo equipo. Corte hacia abajo es usado para controlar desgarros,
permite pulverizar y mezclar y es una efectiva manera de remover el material sobre
bases mojadas. El corte hacia abajo permite convertir a la fresadora en una mquina
recicladora en el lugar ( Cold-In-Place CIR- recycle machines)

The second requirement needed to provide bi-directional milling is a fully
functional moldboard on both the front and rear of the cutter assembly.
This dual moldboard feature allows for up cut front loading (traditional),
down cut rear loading (gradation control) and down cut and leave in place
CIR or cold-in-place recycle option.
