MAJOR TRAINING PROJECTS
FCC TRAINING, PETROCONSULT LUKOIL REFINERY-IPIP,
ROMANIA 2006

In 2007, 60 Vietnamese engineers were trained who were selected to fill the key positions in the refinery for
all areas of activity: 4 refining processes, 6 areas of utilities and facilities, 5 maintenance disciplines an
also laboratory, safety and production, here at PETROCONSULT.
Between November 2007-February 2009 the second stage of training management in Dung Quat Refinery
was conducted
PETROCONSULT tasks consisted in: elaborating and implementing of management plan, coordination and monitoring procedures and
media forms in accordance with the end training objectives; review and approval of training support, daily schedule and training
timetable; planning, organizing and monitoring of the entire training program (theoretical classroom, simulation, and practical-
laboratories, workshop, in plant practicum, OJT) for the sections: HSE induction, construction, operation and management, Fire
fighting crew, laboratory, four main processing areas, simulation of three operating processes, utilities & facilities, maintenance
(mechanical, automation, electrical), turnaround, train the trainer & cascade training, licensor & vendor training; analysis of results
and action & improvement plans, supervising the periodic assessments and final evaluation, monitoring progress and providing
recommendations for job assignment.
Around 900 future employees of DQR were trained and qualified under PETROCONSULT training management during 3 years of
contract.

EMPLOYEES HEALTH AND SAFETY premises for the welfare
growth



The training objective is to increase trainees abilities and skills, necessary in
order to perform a sound weld, using the specified weld process (GTAW or
SMAW for root pass and SMAW for filling and cover passes) and the specified
WPS.

The training is interactive, alternating theory and practical applications
effectively, being a combination of hands-on experience and classroom.

The training for the first two sessions achieved its objectives and was a
complete success, as:

After completing the course, the trainees substantially enriched their
understanding in welding field and developed the skills they need to do
their jobs effectively;
Of the total of 14 trainees, 11 passed the qualification test, being licensed.
Moreover, some of the licensed trainees were true beginners in the
domain;
The trainees degree of motivation increased;
The feedback from the management and trainees was a positive one.
