THE FUTURE.
I TEACH
What do you do?
opportunity to shape lives
love of teaching , interacting with children
a profession, just like any other
where else can you get paid leave upwards of
a month?
Why are you here?
What do our learners say?
I need you to help
me shape my ideas.
Could you
help me
teach
myself the
things I
need to
learn?
Why am I here?
Whats my purpose in
life?
Could you help me find
the answer to these?
Could you judge
me less, esp. on
the basis of my
performance, &
try to understand
me more?
Be strict with
me, but please
be fair too.
An Integral part of a childs life
Your Support :a feeling of safety
Your Reinforcement : his risk- taking ability
Your Empathy & Understanding :his self-
worth
Your Love towards your job : his interest in
school & studies.
You are
A Teachers Prayer
Each time before I face my class
I hesitate a while & ask the Father
Help me Lord, to understand the child
Help me to see in everyone
A precious soul most dear
And may I lead that child
Through paths of wonder not fear.
Dear Father as they look to me
For help and guidance true
I look to thee and humbly ask
That Thou will teach me too!
What can YOU do to see the shining eyes of your
students?
Believe in & Build a World of Possibilities
Quiet the voice that says : I cant do it.
Everyone gets that A
Teach them to Think, Analyze, Challenge & Experiment
Death by Coma
I think I know
What it feels like to slip into a coma.
I am sitting,
My teacher is rambling,
And my senses are going.
Slowly,
I slip
Into
Darkness...

Being a good role model
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed people can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
- Margaret Mead
So what kind of a teacher will you be today?
CHILDREN HAVE FEELINGS TOO
INSTEAD OF CRITICISM AND ADVICE
THE TEACHER MEANS WELL, BUT WHEN A STUDENT IS BOMBARDED WITH
CRITISM AND ADVICE, HE FINDS IT DIFFICULT TO THINK ABOUT HIS PROBLEM
OR TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT
CHILDREN HAVE FEELINGS TOO
INSTEAD OF CRITICISM AND ADVICE
THE TEACHER MEANS WELL, BUT WHEN A STUDENT IS BOMBARDED WITH
CRITISM AND ADVICE, HE FINDS IT DIFFICULT TO THINK ABOUT HIS PROBLEM
OR TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT
YOU MUST HANDLE THEM WELL.
ACKNOWLEDGE FEELINGS WITH A WORD OR SOUND
(OH OR MMM UH OR I SEE)
BY RESPONDING TO A STUDENTS DISTRESS WITH AN ATTITUDE OF CONCERN
AND AN OCCASIONAL NOD OR GRUNT OF UNDERSTANDING, WE FREE HIM TO
FOCUS ON HIS PROBLEM AND POSSIBLY SOLVE IT HIMSELF
INSTEAD OF DENYING FEELINGS
WHEN FEELINGS ARE DENIED, A STUDENT CAN EASILY BECOME DISCOURAGED.
PUT THE FEELINGS INTO WORDS
WHEN NEGATIVE FEELINGS ARE IDENTIFIED AND ACCEPTED, A STUDENT
FEELS ENCOURAGED TO CONTINUE TO STRIVE
INSTEAD OF IGNORING FEELINGS
ITS HARD FOR CHILDREN TO CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR WHEN THEIR
FEELINGS ARE COMPLETELY INGORED.
ACCEPT FEELINGS EVEN AS YOU STOP UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR
ITS EASIER FOR CHILDREN TO CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR WHEN THEIR
FEELIGNS HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED.
INSTEAD OF REASON AND EXPLANATION
ITS FRUSTRATING WHEN A STUDENT REFUSES TO RESPOND TO REASON.
WHAT CAN WE DO INSTEAD ? IS THERE A BETTER WAY TO HELP STUDENTS
OVERCOME THEIR RESISTANCE TO A TASK
GIVE IN FANTASY WHAT YOU CANT GIVE IN REALITY
WHEN WE EXPRESS A STUDENTS WISHES IN FANTASY, WE MAKE IT EASIER
FOR HER TO DEAL WITH REALITY.
