A technique that uses a situation or environment created to allow
persons to experience a representation of a real event for the
purpose of practice, learning, evaluation, testing, or to gain understanding of systems or human actions SIMULATION BEHAVIOUR SIMULATION INSTRUMENTS INSTRUMENT
A measuring device for determining the present value of a quantity under observation. BEHAVIOUR SIMULATION INSTRUMENTS Instruments are usually in the printed format containing clear instructions and a series of questions. Objective or subjective type. Participants fill in the questionnaire individually or in twos/ threes. There are instructions at the end of the instruments explaining how to examine answers, assign scores and tally them. The connotations of different scores are also clarified. The purpose is to generate data about each learner. However, it is left to the learners to decide how to use this information. Some examples of instruments are the personality trait inventory, interpersonal perception form, T-P questionnaire for Leadership, FIRO-B, etc. BEHAVIOUR SIMULATION INSTRUMENTS INSTRUMENT 16 PERSONALITY FACTORS BEHAVIOUR SIMULATION INSTRUMENTS Simulation based training techniques, tools, and strategies can be applied in designing structured learning experiences, as well as be used as a measurement tool linked to targeted teamwork competencies and learning objectives. Simulation training centers, with their new techniques and equipment, offer unique opportunities for dynamic, complex, and unanticipated situations to be practiced and managed. SIMULATION BASED TRAINING BEHAVIOUR SIMULATION INSTRUMENTS BENEFITS OF SIMULATION BEHAVIOUR SIMULATION INSTRUMENTS ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SIMULATION METHOD Advantages:- Allows an exploration of real life situations, social processes and behaviors in a relatively non threatening manner/ situation. It allows for the study of very complex social processes. It is entirely controlled by the learners pace. It involves activity and universal participation. Learning takes place at the awareness level. Disadvantages:- It requires that participants cooperate and internalize the roles. It is a difficult method and requires an experienced and skilled adult educator to conduct it. Mismatch of roles may lead to poor performances by the learners. Critical skills are needed to handle feelings generated in the process. BEHAVIOUR SIMULATION INSTRUMENTS
