The BioMedical waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998 1 Section4 Duty for occupier generating BioMedical waste to handle the waste in a manor without affecting human health and environment. 2 Section5 Treatment and disposal of the waste in accordance with schedule I. 3 Section 6 Segregation of waste in to containers/bags in accordance with schedule II & III. Transport the waste in vehicle authorized for the purpose by competent authority. Untreated biomedical waste should not be kept stored beyond period of 48 hours.
