ETHICAL INTEGRITY IN

LEADERSHIP AND
ORGANIZATIONAL MORAL
CULTURE

INTRODUCTION

Ethical Leadership is leading by knowing and doing what is
right. The problem with ethical leadership is that it is difficult
to define right. Ethical leadership is divided into two parts.
The leader must act and make decisions ethically, and second,
the leader must also lead ethically in their attitudes and
interactions.

Organizational culture is the behavior of humans who
are part of an organization and the meanings that the
people reach to their actions. Culture includes the
organization values, visions, norms, working language,
systems, symbols, beliefs, and habits. It is also the
pattern of such collective behaviors and assumptions
that are taught to new organizational members as a way
of perceiving, and even thinking and feeling.
Organizational culture affects the way people and groups
interact with each other, with clients, and with
stakeholders.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

This research aim is to explore the relationship between
morality and organizational culture with reference to the
process of ethical integrity.

Firstly, we introduce the notion of organizational culture
emphasizing the importance of moral values and their role in
building a true ethical climate. Secondly, we focus on the
study of ethical decision making.
Ethical Integrity covers various aspects under the general umbrella
of supportive organizational behavior. It must evaluate the attitude
of the employees towards the personnel policies.

The research will be helpful in understanding the current position of
the respective company and provide some strategies to extend the
Organizational culture with little modification which is based on the
internal facilities of the company.

This research can be further used to evaluate how the leaders are
ethical and it significance to organizational culture.

Reviews on Ethical leadership
and Organizational Moral culture

Observers have long believed that personal traits such as integrity
would be important to perceptions of leadership effectiveness and
research has borne that out. For example, survey research has linked
perceived leader effectiveness with perceptions of the leader's
honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness (Den Hartog et al., 1999;
Kirkpatrick & Locke, 1991; Kouzes & Posner, 1993; Posner &
Schmidt, 1992). And, cognitive trust (the exercise of care in work,
being professional, dependable; McAllister, 1995) has been
associated with effective styles of leadership as well (Dirks &
Ferrin, 2002).
Ravasi and Schultz (2006) state that organizational
culture is a set of shared mental assumptions that guide
interpretation and action in organizations by defining
appropriate behavior for various situations. At the same
time although a company may have their "own unique
culture", in larger organizations, there is a diverse and
sometimes conflicting cultures that co-exist due to
different characteristics of the management team. The
organizational culture may also have negative and
positive aspects
Research Design
This Study will discusses the moral value espoused and practiced by
organizational leaders . My Future study may includes reviewing several
literatures, collecting of data for building the formal models. All serves the
goal of examining the moral that stands behind the actions of organizational
leaders. The further study will be made to analyze the ethics and moral
competency all organizational leaders.
This research deals with the objective of the research study, the method of
defining the research problem, the type of hypothesis formulated, the type
of data collected, methods used for collecting and analyzing data. The
present study is designed as an exploratory one based on survey method.

Conclusion
Much of the current research today is central to three
main topics, ethics within the individual leader, ethical
leaders influencing followers, and challenges which
impacts ethics in organization culture. Future research to
consider regarding the field of ethics is the further
development of models dealing with the implementation
of ethics in organizations. There are still many undefined
gray areas that exist within ethical leadership and my
further studies are needed to alleviate these areas.
