is the GIS interface cubicle to all secondary systems of a substation
like Station Control and Protection.

includes control and protection functions as well as the correct
distribution of auxiliary power supply for the relevant GIS bay.

is in charge for a save and reliable operation and monitoring of all
switchgear elements.

Detailed description of functions for a local control
realized on the base of conventional relay control:

Local control

AC / DC supply:
- The AC / DC supply for the control and the motors of the
mechanisms is distributed with miniature circuit breakers
(MCB).
- Each cubicle has its own voltage distribution.
- Separate MCB for motor voltage, control voltage,
interlocking voltage, alarm voltage.
- All MCB are equipped with auxiliary contacts.

Local control

Remote / Local:
- Remote or Local actuation has to be selected with a
separate selector switch on the mimic.
- Interposing relays and interface terminals for remote
control.
- Control switches on the mimic for local control of the GIS.
Double action prevention for all mechanisms:
- This function blocks simultaneous actuations of several
high voltage mechanisms in one bay. Separate relays are
used for double action prevention.

Local control

Interlocking & Interlocking Bypass:
- Electrical interlocking system complete with feeder- and
switchgear interlocking.
- Contact logic based on contact multiplying relays, fail
save. Permanent supervision for discrepancy-position of the
multiplying relays.
- The interlocking voltage is separated from the control
voltage.
- The interlocking is effective under local and remote
control.
- Possibility (by a key switch) to override the interlocking of
the relevant bay. Only possible under local control.

Local control

Human Machine Interface (HMI):
- Selector switches
(Remote/Local,
Interlocking Bypass), control
switches (OFF/ON) and position
indicators are mounted on a
mimic (mosaik or alu-late) for
local control.

Control of Disconnectors & Earthing switches:
- For local or remote actuation. Local/remote operating selection.
- Interposing relays for remote control.
- Position monitoring of the mechanisms by indicators on the mimic.
- Intermediate position blocks the operation after running time is
exceeded.
- A started operation of a mechanism can not be cancelled.
- A tipping of a motor relay by hand does not result in a maintaining
position of the relays.
- Actuation by control pulse.
- Free auxiliary contacts from the mechanisms are wired to terminals.

Control of Circuit Breakers:
- Local and remote actuation. Local/remote operating
selection.
- Interposing relays for remote control.
- Trip coils wired on interface terminals for external trip-
signals.
- Blocking of tripping and closing in response to SF6 gas loss
second stage.
- Anti-pumping circuit.
- Blocking of closing if a disconnector or an earthing switch is
in
a fault position.
- Supervision of phase discrepancy of the circuit breaker
poles.
- Actuation by control pulse.
- Free auxiliary contacts from the mechanism are wired to
terminals.

Supervision of SF6-Gas Compartments:
- Three phases are connected in parallel on the plant
and one cable is connected to the LCC where a first and a
second stage signal of the gas pressure is available.
- For the circuit breaker a relay is wired to the second
stage to block the circuit breaker in case of pressure
loss.

Alarm Indication & Signalisation:
- Alarm unit equipped with 16 alarms.
- Fault indication is done with LED. For remote indication
potential free contacts are wired to terminals.
- If a fault occures the relevant LED starts flashing as long
as the alarm is acknowledged. Thereafter the LED turns
to permanent light. After the fault is cleared it will reset
automatically.

Transformers & Measuring:
- Wired to terminals in the LCC as interface to metering
panels and protection panels when the metering and the
protection devices are not installed in the LCC.
- Wired directly from the GIS to metering panels and
protection panels.
- Display on the LCC with ammeters & voltmeters.

with screw-type terminals.
- The interface terminals are arranged in modular system.
- Maximum wire connections of 4mm
