Definition of Subject
Every sentence has a
subject and predicate.
The subject tells whom
or what the sentence is
about.
For example; The house,
The car, or The teacher.
What is a predicate?
The predicate tells something about the subject.
The predicate tells what the subject is or does.
It is the place where youll find the verb.

For example; (The house) is white.
(predicate)
(The car) is blue
(predicate)

(The teacher) loves students.
(predicate)

Examples:
Look at the sentences below. The white
part of the sentence is the subject. The red
part is the predicate.

The car is red.
The dog barked.
This sentence is talking about the hero.
Therefore, the subject is The hero.
Lets find the subject. (Ask yourself: who or
what is the sentence about?).
