Argentina Introduction
VOLUNTEERING is the practise of people working on behalf
of others without being motivated by financial or material
gain. It takes many forms and is performed by many
people. Volunteers are trained in the areas they work in,
such as medicine, education, or emergency rescue.
VOLUNTEERING is one of the most generous and rewarding
acts that one can experience. It is not only about
institutions or organizations, but also people volunteer
their knowledge, skills, strengths and abilities, asking
nothing in return except the opportunity to do what they
can for a cause they believe in.

International Volunteer
Day is coming!
Let’s celebrate this day by devoting some of our
time in helping others.

 Work in groups of three and surf the different websites

provided. Choose one organization you wish to help.
 Look for information about the organization’s needs.
 Choose an activity to do voluntary work.
 Design a leaflet promoting the event in which the
activity is going to take place.
 Once you have designed your leaflet, the class will
choose the most interesting one to put into action as a
way of celebrating the International Volunteer Day.

Go to the different websites suggested below and:

 Choose an activity to raise money/collect clothes,
food/do charitable work and decide on the cause.
 Think about the organization of the event. Make notes
about your ideas, baring in mind:
 Time/place/rules
 What volunteers have to do
 Advice to volunteers
 Use your ideas to write your leaflet.
 Present it to your classmates and teacher.

 Conclusion
