ABSTRACT
A novel fuzzy logic controller based on T-S model is proposed for automatic generation control (AGC) system after deregulation. Since the AGC system is now exposed to sudden, larger changes introduced by deregulation policy, the nonlinearity must be concerned. In this paper, the generation rate constraint (GRC) is firstly constructed in T-S model to design the fuzzy logic controller, while the valve position limits on the governor are under consideration as well INTRODUCTION The successful operation of interconnected power systems requires the matching of total generation with total load demand and associated system losses[1]. AGC system is employed to compensate the deviation in frequency and power exchanges on the tie-line. These two variations are combined together linearly as a single variation called ACE, OBJECTIVE General two area system Different controllers 1. Proportional Integral controller, 2. Proportional Integrator 3. Derivative controller, 4. Fuzzy controller and the 5. Performance of the system
EFFECTS OF CHANGE IN FREQUENCY IN THE POWER SYSTEM Synchronous machines Speed of AC motors AC drives Electric clocks Turbines Power transformer Load demand. The frequency is closely related to the real power balance in the overall network
TYPES OF CONTROLLERS USED
Proportional Integral Controller (PI) Proportional Integral And Derivative Controller (PID) Fuzzy Controller CONCLUSIONS A T-S model based fuzzy logic controller has been employed in a two-area AGC system. GRC is firstly constructed in T-S model, and the valve position limits is considered as well. Simulation result and comparison study demonstrated the effectiveness of the controller SIMULATION USING MATLAB The SIMULINK environment has the advantage that models are entered as block diagrams with an intuitive graphical interface. Model parameters are entered in menus and can be changed interactively during a simulation. Simulation results can be viewed during the simulation and then exported to the MATLAB workspace for subsequent off-line analysis. REFERENCES
