Profesi
A profession is any group sharing a special body
of knowledge, standards of education and
practice, professional associations, and an
ethical framework based in a social contract that
permits a high degree of self-regulation
An occupation that regulates its self through
systematic, required training and collegial
discipline, that has a service rather than profit
oriention, enshrined in its code of ethics.
AKUNTABILITAS PROFESI
DIDASARKAN PADA KONTRAK SOSIAL
Kontrak antara kelompok profesi dengan
masyarakat umum.
Profesi diberi monopoli dalam menggunakan
keahliannya dalam pelayanan kpd
masyarakat, dengan menimbang
otonominya, prestige dan imbalan
finansialnya
Dan sebaliknya profesi harus menjamin
kompetensi mereka, memberikan layanan
yang altruistik, berperilaku yang bermoral dan
berintegritas

Profesionalisme
Profesional internalisasi nilai nilai,
berperilaku sesuai standar dan akuntabel .
Profesionalisme : nilai, perilaku,
pengetahuan, keterampilan untuk
kepentingan masyarakat dan mendapat
kepercayaan masyarakat.
Profesionalism is the basis of medicine
contract with society
It demands placing the interests of patients
above those of the physician, setting and
maintaining standards of competence and
integrity, and providing expert advice to society
on matters of health
Essential to this contract is public trust in
physicians, which depends on the integrity of
both individual physicians and the whole
profession

Atribut Profesionalisme
General Medical Council : providing good clinical
care, maintaining good clinical practices,
teaching and training, probity and health,
working with colleges
American board of internal medicine : altruisme,
accountability, excellence, duty, honour/ integrity
and respect for others.
Van luijk : honesty, responsibility, leadership,
caring and compassion,
Arnold and Stern :
Profesionalism is demonstrated through
foundation of clinical competence,
communication skills, ethical and legal
understanding, upon which build the
aspiration to and wise aplication of the
principle : excellence, humanism,
accountability, and altruism
True professionalism means the pursuit of
excellence, not just competence
Professionalism is predominantly an
attitude, not a set of competencies
A real professional is a technician who

Sistem liberalisasi pengadaan obat/alkes
Masyarakat yang semakin materialistik
Peraturan yang tidak lengkap
Ketidakpercayaan masyarakat terjadi apabila
masyarakat menilai bahwa profesi kedokteran
gagal melakukan swa-regulasi yang menjamin
kompetensi, dan meletakkan kepentingannya di
atas kepentingan pasien
Atau bila kedokteran melindungi anggotanya yg
tidak kompeten dan tidak etis atas nama
kolegialitas
