•Teachers play a pivotal role in social

•A teacher is the topmost academic and professional
person in the educational pyramid.
•It is they who change the attitudes of the younger
generation and prepare them for the assimilation of
new knowledge, skills and values

are undoubtedly the most significant.

teacher reflects the socio – cultural ethos
of society and no people can raise above

into teaching profession.

 Provide the teacher qualitative pre-service


programme & in-service programme.

“ The quality of education depends upon the
effectiveness of teacher ”

2) Intellectual competence – command over the
subject, clarity of thoughts and expression
3) Creative competence – reflective character of
teaching

3) Methodologies and practices

FUNCTION OF THE TEACHERS

3) Assess the efficiency of technology as
means for delivering educational
services.

Teachers should use ICT for accessing latest information in
their content area & organizing multimedia based
classroom teaching and learning
