Check out . . .

DID YOU KNOW THAT

Well-organized speeches are easier for listeners to understand? Listeners find speakers who give well-organized speeches more competent and trustworthy?

Clear organization is linked with critical thinking?

WHY ORGANIZE?
Clear and coherent thoughtsa must for public speaking! So many main points and only so limited time. Clear organization helps you select, interpret, organize and eliminate! Material that flows well helps the audience remain attentive and focused.

You have your topic, but where do you start?

Brainstorm main points! These will be the capital letters in the body of your outline.
Take a sheet of paper and divide it into three columns. Designate each column to one of the following organizational patterns. Brainstorm each of these three organizational patterns:
Time (Chronological) Space (Spatial) Classification (Topical)

What are these? . . .

TIME (Chronological)
What is it?
This arranges your ideas in the order that things happen. For example, in a demonstration speech, it may be 5 Easy Steps

A. Small Mixing Bowl B. Large Mixing Bowl C. Baking Pan D. Oven E. Mouth
