Description: Indonesia comprises 17,508 islands. The nation's capital city is Jakarta. The current nation of Indonesia is a unitary presidential republic consisting of thirty three provinces.The country is richly endowed with natural resources, yet poverty remains widespread in contemporary Indonesia. Total Population: Has a population of around 238 million people, it is the world's fourth most populous country. Despite its large population and densely populated regions, Indonesia has vast areas of wilderness that support the world's second highest level of biodiversity.

Location of the Place: A country in Southeast Asia and Oceania.


Contribution to the Philippines: The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Malaysia. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Difference of time: The time difference between Indonesia and Philippines is about 1 hour, where Philippines is an hour ahead.

National Food: Satay or Sate Ayam


Satay is Mr. Obamas favorite food. Satay may have originated in Java or Sumatra, Indonesia. Satay is available almost anywhere in Indonesia, where it has become a national dish. It is also popular in many other Southeast Asian countries. Ingredients: skewered and grilled meats sauce. diced or sliced chicken or other meats midrib of the coconut leaf spicy seasonings.

Other Food:
Gado-gado - It is one of the well-known dishes from Indonesia. Gado-gado means mixes. Gado-gado is cooked vegetables with peanut sauce and usually has eggs.

Tinutuan - It is a rice porridge mixed with various vegetables such as spinach, kangkung, corn, pumpkin and sweet potato or cassava. Tinutuan is from Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Nasi Kuning It is often prepared for special occasions. Its made from rice, cooked in coconut milk tinted yellow with freshly-granted turmeric, then steamed. Then after it cooked, it is shaped like a cone. The rice may colour adorned with number of dishes like fried chicken, omelette strips, fried dried anchovies, whole boiled eggs fried in a sauce, sweet and sour pickled vegetables, cucumber slices and red chillies cut into flower shapes.

Gudeg - Gudeg is a traditional Indonesian recipe, originally comes from Yogyakarta, Central Java. This traditional recipe is the most famous dish of jackfruit curry in combination with some eggs and chicken. Very delicious despite how it looks.

Islam- It has 90% believer in Indonesia. Islam means submission to god. The followers of Islam is called a muslim, hey have a god which they call as Allah. Christians- It has 8% believer in Indonesia. A person could be a Christian through baptism. They believe in God. Hinduism- It is the oldest religion in the world. Only 2% of the people in Indonesia believes this religon.

1. Wedding Tradition- Practitioners of Islam are in the overwhelming majority in Indonesia, but the group of islands in fact includes many different ethnic groups, each of which brings their unique style of ceremony and celebration to the joining of a couple in matrimony. One of the most important parts of the Indonesian wedding is declaring one's religion; the government of the country does not recognize unions that are not made under the auspices of some religion. Islamic marriages are not required to be registered in the Civil Registry, although those between other religions are. Islamic marriages in Indonesia must be presided over by both a government official and a religious officiator.
