Baby Cream
Smooth as babys bottom
The skin hardly produces any sebum before puberty Sweat is not able to regulate a babys body temperature as effectively as it does in adults
SO
Increased barrier dysfunction with higher transepidermal water loss (TEWL)
complex mixtures of chemical and natural agents designed to make the external layers of the skin softer and more pliable
GLYCERINE (7%)
A daily moisturizer to prevent dry, itchy skin
GLYCERINE (4.3%)

SHEA BUTTER
www.sheainstitute.com/asbi-library/21reasons
The moisturizers in Shea Butter are the same moisturizers produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin
Shea Butters unparalleled moisturizing property is due to several natural moisturizers present in the cream Vitamin A in Shea Butter is important for improving a number of skin conditions, including wrinkles, eczema, and dermatitis Additionally, Premium Shea Butter cream has properties to treat skin allergies, insect bites, sunburns, frostbites, and a number of other conditions of the skin
The exact benefit of the Vitamin E in Shea Butter is less clear Vitamin E is a vitamin whose exact function in human being is not entirely clear, although it has been described as effective in a number of conditions or circumstances Among these include anti-aging, anti-free radical agent, and exerting a positive effect on increasing the micro-circulation
If the vitamin E in Shea Butter is helpful for the skin, such benefits could be accomplished by at least two methods First, by increasing the micro-circulation to the skin, which results in increased blood supply to and from the skin Second, vitamin E may serve by as an anti-free radical agent thereby aiding in preventing the deleterious effects of sun and environmental exposure
GLYCERINE

Humectant
Non-toxic Nature
It is non-toxic, which makes it safe to be used as skin products that are manufactured specifically for infants and children It is also known to be the most versatile ingredient in beauty products because it does not lose its chemical stability when mixed with other substances Glycerin is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction
STUDIES ON GLYCERINE
Assess the efficacy and tolerability of long-term emollient therapy in the treatment of moderate to severe xerosis in young children with AD
Phase III, multicentre, double-blind, randomized, vehicle-controlled trial, Children (n = 251) aged 2-6 years with AD-associated xerosis were randomized 1 : 1 to a 28-day treatment with an emollient combining glycerol and paraffin or its vehicle More patients were responders with emollient than with vehicle (66.1% vs. 45.6%, P < 0.001) Long-term therapy with emollient is effective and well tolerated for the treatment of xerosis in children with atopic dermatitis
Noninvasive stratum corneum sampling and electron microscopical examination of skin barrier integrity: pilot study with a topical glycerin formulation for atopic dermatitis
INTRODUCTION: Therapy of atopic dermatitis encloses use of medicated and nonmedicated preparations. Results of clinical and biophysical procedures indirectly describe the condition of the impaired skin barrier (SB). Direct evaluation of SB integrity is only possible by electron microscopical visualization, e.g. intercellular lipid lamellae (ICLL) organization of the stratum corneum. METHOD: SB integrity was measured by morphometric analysis of ICLL in healthy and atopic skin and after a 15-day treatment (plus 7-day follow-up) of atopic skin with a glycerin preparation. RESULTS: Significant treatment effect was shown by the restoration of the ICLL. CONCLUSIONS: The study reveals that morphometric analysis of ICLL organization is suitable to differentiate between healthy and diseased skin and to semiquantitatively determine the effect of a nonmedicated glycerin formulation.
OLIVE OIL
www.thedailygreen.com/green-homes/latest/olive-oil-benefits-uses-460609
It is a great skin moisturizer, in part because it contains linoleic acid, a compound not made by the body, but which prevents water from evaporating It also contains at least four different antioxidants, which can help "neutralize damaging free radicals that can lead to skin aging and skin cancer
JOJOBA OIL
www.cremedevie.com/jojoba-clinical.htm
Since jojoba is completely miscible with sebum, it forms a very thin, non-greasy lipoid layer of jojoba and sebum when it is applied to the skin This partially porous layer provides exceptional transepidermal respiration and moisture control - making it perfect for antiaging skincare Unlike greasy occlusive materials such as petrolatum, mineral oils, jojoba provides an absolutely non-tacky, non-greasy "dry" emolliency.
Also it significantly reduces Trans Epidermal Water Loss without totally blocking transpiration of gases and water vapor
Natural Jojoba serves as an excellent moisturizing agent with exceptional spread and lubricity, and leaves a rich velvety nonoily feel on the skin
Percutaneous absorption studies at the University of Michigan demonstrated that jojoba is quickly absorbed into the skin. Absorption is apparently via the trans appendegeal mechanism and occurs through the pores and hair follicles
Additionally, because jojoba is rapidly absorbed, the pores and hair follicles can remain open and thus maintain their proper functioning ability
From the pores and hair follicles, jojoba diffuses into the corneal layer of the skin probably via a pilosebaceous mechanism In short, it appears that jojoba effectively moisturizes and softens the skin by a dual action of forming a lipid layer, which is partially occlusive, and by the diffusion of jojoba into the intercellular spaces of the stratum corneum to soften this tissue
