Company Profile
History: In the early 1980s, the Indian
Government
decided to produce a small car, which would
be within the buying reach of the Indian
middle class. Maruti Udyog was incorporated
in 1981.
Suzuki Motor Corporation and the
government
reached an agreement under which Maruti
Suzuki Automobile was floated as a 70:30
joint

India and is currently having a share of around 54%in
the domestic passenger car market where most major
international automobile manufacturers are present.

manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) for the company's
proposed Research and Development Complex in Rohtak
CONTRIBUTION IN ECONOMY
 Maruti Suzuki India has recently announced that
it expects a sales growth up to 5 percent in the
2009-2010 fiscal year. The company has
revealed the target on the back of a strong
demand in the rural areas as well as foreign
market.
 Maruti Suzuki India recorded 3.57% rise in its
total volume sold in 2008-09 fiscal year to
7,92,167 units, a record sales for Maruti Suzuki
in India in a fiscal year. Only in March, Maruti
Suzuki sold 85,669 units, 21.87 % up from year-
round.
