PROPERTIES OF THE CONTINUED APPLICATION OF ALPERUJO IN PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF A LUVISOL: APPARENT DENSITY, STRUCTURAL STABILITY AND POROSIMETRY

MAURICIO HINCAPI DIANA BELTRN DIEGO ACUA

ABSTRACT
The soils in semi -arid Mediterranean environment have low, levels of organic matter and strong degradation processes . Some residue from mills which produces alperujo that conteins vegetable water olive solids and others componets so contains a high percentage of organic matter In this paper they evaluate the effect of applying arpelujo during seven years and how varies the density, structural stability and porosimetry in a Luvisol Cutnico soils.

They found that the application of arpelujo , increases structural stability, total pore volume and the apparent density decreases . Keywords: Arpelujo , Luvisol , physical, agro-industrial waste .

INTRODUCTION

Mediterranean atmosphere soils have low levels of organic Soils subjected to accelerate the decomposition of organic matter and destroy stable aggregates , increasing degradative processes In the ground - floor system has a number of physical factors affecting the performance of the crop . Studies on utilization of organic amendment arpelujo are very litte

(PARENTHE SIS)

LUVISOLES Its fertile soils high in silt susceptible to structural deterioration if they are carved in wet conditions and / or heavy machinery. In the Mediterranean region, the upper parts of the slope are used as extensive grassland, crops or trees or other woody (eg, olive trees, almond trees, vineyards, etc..).

HOW IMPROVE SOIL FERTILITY?. Improving soil structure, increasing the water holding capacity, better mobilization of ground elements for the best use of trees, nutrient itself, etc ... are a direct result of these contributions of organic amendments, to prevent erosion and to improve the capacity and water use.

METHODS
They used luvisol Cutnico that containis 19.8%, 19.7% and 60.5% clay, silt and sand, respectively Experimental design in randomized blocks with three replicates per treatment, selected three doses: 30 and 60 Mg arpelujo Ha-1 (T1 and T2) and a control (T0) whitout nothing.

Arpelujo Continued application leads to a decrease of the density values (DA) in T1 (13%) and T2 (27%). Alperujo applying a significant increase in the structural stability values (44% and 62% for T1 and T2, respectively).

Although a significant increase in all the ranges considered, it is noteworthy and increase recorded in the pore volume in each of the ranges considerable.

CONCLUSIONS
Alperujo Continued application of 60 mg ha-1 yr-1, give beneficial effects on the fiscal properties: apparent density, structural stability and pore volume.

Alperujo Continued application helps decrease the deterioration of physical properties of olive soils and increases the manageability, improving the production.
