Going Beyond Evangelism Ordinary Believers Doing the Will of the Father Pro 24:3-4, 27 & Luke 14:23

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. Pro 24:3-4 Then the master told his servant, Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. Luke 14:23

So arent I Supposed to witness?

Missions/ Evangelism is the mandate of the church. Since the fall of man in Genesis, God has been seeking restoration of fellowship with us. Because we were, as a result of sin, separated from God. So all witnessing is about is seeking to restore that fellowship between God and his Children

How important is Missions?

It is so important that in Matt 24:14 listen to what Jesus has to say. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matt 24:14

How important is Missions

Lets take note of what Jesus said in that verse
THIS GOSPEL Our message must be pure, not watered down, it MUST bring Hope and Joy, and Restoration. WILL Gods intention is clear in the passage, He has already made up His mind. Are you going to line up? Preached This message that the church has to be Proclaimed with boldness and authority, (Local Govt Election Campaign) They were bold in their proclamations. ALL THE WORLD this is the Scope that God has envisioned. So as a church, you and I must affect EVERY Sphere of life, Home, Work, School

So what now?
It is not a question of should I be a part of missions/ Evangelism but HOW.. The real issue here is not making converts, but Disciples Many people can make a decision on bus, in a time of crisis etc, but what about when they get off the bus? What about when the crisis is averted?

The real Issue

The church needs to be just as concerned about disciples as it is for decisions for Christ. You cant have one without the other. So going forward, when I speak of filling Gods house, I am not talking about mere numbers, but having it filled with Discipled believers, who know their God and themselves.

What does God want

In Luke 14:23
Then the master told his servant, Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. Jesus shared this parable and made some things very clear.
The Banquet was ready (vs 17) Those who were invited made excuses

Fill me up.
Excuses made the Master angry (vs21) The invitation was opened up to those who were hurting The master made the servant go out again to ensure that His house was going to be FILLED! So this is the plan of God, not only to get you saved, but to have you in HIS house.

Why Fill the HOUSE

The master would have been embarrassed if he set out so many plates but few turned out. It would have been a waste of the banquet food. God payed the ultimate price for your Ticket.

So in Luke we see Gods desire to see his House filled with all people.
Question What have you done lately to fill this house?

What does Solomon have to Say

Let us look at one of the wisest men that ever lived to see what he says.
In Pro 24 He mentioned 3 things
Thru wisdom a house is built By understanding it is established By knowledge its chambers are filled with precious and pleasant riches

What can you do

Firstly
Get Wisdom Chapter 4 of this book tells us just that. For to increase the church, it will take wisdom (skill, technical skill, experience, Godly leading) Our skills will have to be honed and developed to bring increase Read books, get around people who are soul winners, be around driven people.

To get wisdom we need to also humble ourselves. Acknowledge that we dont have all the answers, we must be willing to learn from others.

Secondly, we will need understanding
As a church in the community of Palo Seco, do you understand the needs of this place? Are you familiar with the strongholds in the community? To get understanding, we need to spend a lot not money but time. Time to observe, to listen to learn.

Thirdly, its by Knowledge we will get this thing done.
But this is not just any knowledge, but it is knowledge that comes from spending that time in the word and in prayer. Gaining Godly insight and perspective is crucial for success in any area. Dont try to use second hand info, get your own! (David and Saul's armor)

The Effects
So lets pay close attention to Proverbs 24:3-4 It says By Wisdom a House is built!
Where there is wisdom there is construction, expansion, growth After all Solomon did say that Wisdom is the principal thing. Pro 4:7

Secondly, after we build by wisdom,
Understanding, helps us Establish it. No more fly by night groups, the church is here to stay

Thirdly, we need knowledge after the house is built, it is established, it needs to be filled.
This is what knowledge does. Remember its the knowledge that comes from spending that time with the Lord. Notice in vs 4 what things filled the house, there were, precious and pleasant things.
YOU ARE PRECIOUS TO GOD!

CONCLUSION
Do your planning and prepare your fields before building your house. Pro 24:27
PLAN : have meetings with you team, strategise PREPARE : Pray, this is time to mobilize your army PLOW : Go into you communities, into the field and THEN GODS house will be filled.
