In what way my front cover has developed and changed ideas

My magazine has the typical values and conventions of a hard rock/ metal magazine in doing so I have used the following characteristics of a rock magazine how ever I have also displayed a visual from other genres of magazines to help with the final outcome of my magazine and in doing so this has allowed me to create a challenged product. I have used a lot of rock/metal magazines to allow for the same conventions for example on the front cover of my magazine I have used a varied house style of red, blue, white, purple and black as this covers both male and female genders for my magazine however when compared to metal hammer the house style consists of blue, yellow and white as the main house style this is more aimed at a male genre rather than a female genre it is also the same with the front cover the kerrang magazine as it has a house style of red, white and yellow the red in the magazine gives a sense of danger to the magazine where as the blue on the metal hammer magazine gives a sense of agony as there is an electric spark coming out of the hand on the main image. Therefore I used this idea of a blue line coming out of my hand on the front cover of my magazine not to give a sense of agony but to give a sense of calmness to my magazine I also used the idea of red in my magazine to represent a sense of danger and this shows because the main title is bright red. On both the Kerrang and Metal hammer front covers they both have a main image of one person the kerrang magazine has someone looking smug at the reader but he is using his hands as a weapon as he is pretending to hold two pistols in both hands and the pistols are pointing towards the reader as if the person in the main image is wanting to shoot the reader in the Metal hammer magazine the guy in the in main image is angry and he really wants to kill some one and the pull quote on the main image well take over from Metallica and Maiden this suggests that there is a battle of leadership in the world of rock metal where as in Kerrang We found a new world this suggests a sense of difference because it suggests that they like to explore new worlds and this makes the reader more interested to see what they have explored. I did not use a pull quote in my magazine because it would not appeal to the main ideas what I had in mind for my magazine.

The main titles from both the Kerrang and Hammer head were good because I like the way in the Kerrang mag how the white title stands out and the same goes for the hammer head the main title is bright blue so that it captures the audiences eye and so for my overall title I used the white and blue in my text with a read out line and the red out line is what makes it stand out as it is bright and the blue behind the text takes a bit of the brightness away so that it did not totally draw the attention away form the main image. The images on the kerrang mag are all grouped together and in doing so this allows for the target audience to see what is available inside the magazine and the images all have a yellow outline to go with the house style in doing so I took this idea and incorporated it into my front cover as this allowed me to see the images better for one because they stood out with a red dotted outline on them. The other thing I liked was how on the Hammer head magazine the text had been centred down the left hand side of the page and in doing so I used this idea on the front cover of my magazine and these are the different ways in which my front over uses these forms.

Q1

What music people like.

People who are influenced by social websites such as:

People who are aged between 17-24 and who are of both male and female gender. People who like play guitar, bass, drums etc.. People who like the latest new on cloths and fashion from places such as: People who like to go to gigs and concerts often.

Q1

I fell that my magazine is similar to hammer and kerrang because my magazine would be similar to the people who buy kerrang. However the kerrang magazine has a lot of mainstream information in it and this as a feature its self I have included in my magazine because this will allow for a better widespread of readers for my magazine as it draws the target audience of the magazine to carry on reading and with the hammer magazine there is a good use of colour to attract the audience in doing so I feel that my magazine appeals to both of these magazines and so it gives my magazine a unique selling point as it appeal's to both genders.

Q1

I have done some audience research to display what people are looking for in their targeted magazines and by doing this research it has shown me that rock music is popular by demand these days and so people enjoy reading the latest gossip about their favourite source of news and this will make the reader carry on reading the magazine and this is a primary target for my audience to read my magazine and to keep them interested.

Q1 This issue of kerrang uses more masculine and feminine colours and in doing so this consists of red , yellow, white and black and in doing so this magazine would appeal to both of the genders in doing so you could argue that the red and white are aimed more towards the female readers of the magazine and that the yellow and black are aimed towards the male readers of the magazine. Therefore in my magazine I used the same technique as this allows for a more varied audience in doing so this brand of magazine has a audience age from 16-25 as this suggests that this magazine is trying to vary its audience.

Q2 Costume Both of the outfits have black on them to suggest a bad thing will happen however the greenlooks more rebellious than the black dress that would appeal to older people and the high knee suspenders would suggest a inappropriate look something what a major wannabe would ware.

Q2 This is Avril's mainstream look.

The white and black both contract each other.

There is more of a neutral look here with a sense that she is a bad girl and she is not smiling. The high boots suggest that she wants to be taller than the reader.

Her hair is straight to suggest that she is natural.

She is wearing black to suggest that there is a dark side to here.

She is looking directly away form the camera and this shows she is not focusing in on the audience.

Q2

This is Avrils niche look The green and black both have a theme of war to them in this picture.

Her hair is waivey here and this suggests that she has only one dirction.

There is more of a war type rebellious look here for the smile on here face.

She is wearing green and hold ups to suggest that she is bad. She is looking directly at the audience and this suggests that she is ready to fight them.

The high boots suggest that she is hard and stubborn.

Q3

The sort of media product that might distribute to my produce would be kerrang because it is rather similar to this as it has all of the high graded colours and in doing so the use of light colours draws the readers eye to the magazine for example the who use of red in the main title of my magazine is good as this allows for the reader to see the main title and therefor the main institution to my magazine is parts of rock and music bands as this would appeal to most of the people in my target audience another distribution to this would be the feact that the magazine is big and it makes good use of the space in the main distribution of my magazine.

The rock sound contents page is used to draw the reader in and in doing so this allows for a good layout of the contents page as well as the camera angle is good and in doing so there is eye contact as the head is facing to the right and above his eye the eye brow has been raised and this suggests that the image has been edited. This double page spread of paramore has the lead singer of the band stood out front the rest of the band so on my double page spread I used this idea to show that the images what I used were important and in doing so this allowed me to use four different images grouped together what were all annotated. The use of images in this magazine in the contents pages stood out because there is a set pattern however this means that there is less room for the writing on the contents page and in doing so this gives the reader less to read but it is only the main features in the magazine so on my contents page I challenged this by making sure that I had a formal layout on some feature so that my magazine would allow the reader of the magazine more chance to see and read what the magazine has to offer.

This double page spread gave me the idea of putting the main quote on the right hand side of my images and the main image is centred on the right hand side of the page and it is the same for the above double page spread because both of the images stand out so this challenging the text.

The target audience for my magazine. The primary audience for my magazine is mostly females however my magazine is a hybrid genre as my magazine also includes fashion and in doing so this aimed towards females. There is a combination of different genres and in doing so the main target age for my magazine would be teenagers and young adults because there is a lot of information that relates to teenagers and in doing so this allows for a good use of a wide spread audience.

My secondary audience would be men because there is also content in my magazine for men such as guitar sticker and images of new guitars and this interests the target audience for this sector of the magazine and all of the information provided for the here this will be aimed at men from around 18-24 so mainly young adults and in my opinion this is good as it allows for my magazine to be more open and friendly so this is good as more men will read my magazine.
The demographic for my magazine would be people who aim or yearning to become a rock star and in doing so the magazine provides information about celebrities and so it makes the readers crave the whole A-list talk, gossip and spotlight.

The target audience for my magazine. The similar magazine like mine would be hammer as there is a good use of colour and the magazine targets the information at both male and female readers and so this allows for more readers and in doing so is one of the UKs most top read magazines in the country along with Kerrang and so this is how I want my magazine to appeal to people across the country. There are a lot of audience idols that I have been looking at for my magazine and in doing so there were only a few people that stood out to me and some of these people were celebrities like Avril lavigne was good to use as an idol for my magazine as I included her wedding with the leader singer of nickel back's Chad Croger who got married and I thought that this would be a good turn in my magazine as it would allow for people to look up to her and this would also encourage the target audience to carry on reading the magazine. The ideal reader for my product would be someone who like to aspire to be like Avril or Chad because they are both good people and this will make people feel like they want to be these people and so this would be my ideal reader because it will appeal to my magazine and the audience therefore this will allow the readers of my magazine to become more like these people who are seen as their idols and it will also bring fans to read my magazine as well.

Question 5 How the audience was attracted.

Pulse Fusion Gender
My magazine is aimed at both genders and in doing so I mainly think that girls are more likely to buy my magazine and in doing so this is more the area of a selling point as the magazine front cover dose have more femine colours to it such as the light purple however I think that my magazine can also be aimed at boys as the main backdrop of the image has a black and white background. Age The pulse fusion was aimed at my target audience and other people who would pick up and read this magazine. Genre My cover star represents a party like atmosphere and in doing so is represented by this as it shows her in a motion pose.

Question 5 How the audience was attracted.

This shows what the magazine has to offer and in doing so this allows the reader to see what the magazine has to offer and also to se which bands stand out from the rest and in doing so the use of red suggests a cause for danger and the use of purple is more of a lighter side to the story.

There is a use of images that have a small description in about the images and what section they cover as this might be important information to some audience member who like shopping for example cloths section is aimed at people who like shopping.

Finally the use of this button I to allow the readers to see what competitions we offer and in doing so this was placed in the bottom left hand corner of my magazine and this allowed for the button to stand out.

Question 6
This is how I designed my front cover by building up layers on the magazine and also by adding a camera and in doing so to build up the layer I used a program called pixolar-o-matic and in doing so I was able to change the colour contract from the original image on the front cover of my magazine and in doing so this allowed me to see the different styles and to see which colours suited the magazine the best and therefor the best colours to use on my magazine and the best colours to uses were blue, red, white and purple and in doing so all of these colours had a male and a female style to it and in doing so this allowed my magazine to be unique.

Question 6-Website
Here is the brand logo representing pulse fusion and in doing so the brand logo stands out straight away so that it is recognisable. Here is the magazine with the issue what is on sale in stores and it has a section explaining what information it consists of.

Here is the new which includes the latest stories and in doing so this allows for the reader to actively see what is happening and so with the new being mainstreamed it gets up dated every hour.

This is an interactive area where the readers can get hold of all areas such as they can listen to the latest music and its completely free. Question 6- Distribution
I researched the music Kerrang and Hammer magazines and in order to get an idea of the different media conventions and institutions to how I should develop and distribute my own music magazine P.F magazines are for different genres and so using both as examples it helped me show how to distribute my magazine as my genre was a mixture of both and more chart based. The brand statement for Kerrang magazine is the worlds biggest selling weekly rock magazine. This statement helps sell the brand as it uses statistics and so people are likely to believe facts over opinions and buy the magazine thinking it is professional and popular. Whereas my brand statement is This is the new rock metal madness which although it isn't facts sells the brand to the audience as it tells them that the magazine is better than others and promotes the issue. It also promises them that there will be quality interviews and stories in the magazine and this allows for more readers because the more readers there are the better the overall out come for the magazine. Metal hammer produce over 7.5million copes of there magazines each year and also the publishers of Kerrang magazine publish more than 8 million copies of there magazine. These two magazines being published are both under completion and they both try to out sell each other every year.

Question 7
For my overall outcome I feel like I have learned how to create a good standard magazine with the correct information in it the collage magazine was good and in doing so the colours what I used were simple and this allowed for a better front cover in my opinion and there was a good use of vocabulary and the images were simple and the layout of the magazine was good as this allowed for a better outcome the colours what I used were red, black and white and this allowed me to keep my colour scheme simple and this was good because it gave me the idea to just stick with three colours for the overall magazine. In doing so this is good because the colours will determine the overall content and the overall main out look of the magazine this allows for a greater outcome to the overall product in doing so this allows for the overall product to be good and in doing so this allows for the product to be of a good standard and this will appeal to the overall target audience and this is good because it look professional.

Question 7

This is my Aquinas front cover to make all of the following edits I used: Publisher Adobe Photoshop Digital cameras And Pixol-o-matic for editing the resolution of the photos.

Question 7

For the main font I used red and this would stand out over the black and in doing so the font I used was destroy the mian font is bol and has a white lighting bold behind it to make it stand out even more.

The main images I used where all edited into black and white as I felt that this would correspond to the main colour scheme and in doing so this would allow me to correspond the images to the colour scheme.

This is the main free posters section of my front cover and this offers the reader a free poster in the magazine and so this is black and red to to also give a scene of danger but also to show the reader that it is there.

Question 7

This is my magazine contents page and in doing so this allows the reader to see the main features what are down in the right hand corner the main font has a use of red to represent danger and in doing so this allows the reader to see the main image as well which stands out in black and white and in doing so this allows the reader to see what the main image is about therefor this allows the reader to compare the main image to the other images on my contents page therefore the title is red with a white bolt in the background for that contrast through out the magazine and this has allowed me to see the overall contents page as a good use of information and images that are displayed to the reader and final there is an editors not that expresses the editors opinion about the issue of the magazine.
