Introduction
The diagnostic kit which my company ABC
Co.pvt ltd. is designing is very useful for the
coming generation, people and researchers,
especially who are working as a genealogist
because this can provide a brief of their family
history.
This particular kit can easily tell about the
relationship between two people and also the
diseases and genetic disorders related with
them.

Technology
It helps in the establishment of biological
relationship for immigration, organ
transplantation and property inheritance cases.
Identification of missing children & child
swapping in hospitals.
Identification of plant varieties.
Databank services for criminal justice
administration.
Identification of endangered species and
prevention of wildlife.
Scope
Scope of this kit is very high because till now this
technique is not used in the commercial scale in
India, and the success behind this kit is due to its
multipurpose work and its low cost compared to
any other lab or institute in India or in foreign
countries. This kit is the total combination of all the
forensic lab work which is done in India.
With the help of this kit we can save our future
generation. the future risk resulting from today's
lack of caution may not impact you, but may harm
your children and their descendants.
For example:-
If any person have some genetic disease that are
regularly passing or coming from there ancestors
that disease can be easily detected and with the
help of this kit we can prevent it to pass it to the
next coming generation.
According to a survey which was done in
foreign countries (U.S)three months
ago, nowadaysmore than 38.8% people want to
know there origin and also want to add leaves
on there family tree by knowing their personal
family history. There are some Markers used for
doing the test is date of birth, death relatives
etc.
An individual’s results are compared with those
of other customers, or searches will be
conducted within geographically or ethnically
coded databases for matches with the client’s
The Technique
Firstly I will take the sample from the customer
and extract DNA from it. After extracting a
small amount of DNA, that DNA will be allowed
for P.C.R. in which the D.N.A gets amplified and
produce more number of copies.
Figure :

PCR cycle. (1)
Denaturing at 94-96°C.
(2) Annealing at ~65°C
(3) Elongation at 72°C.
Four cycles are shown
here. The blue lines

template to which
primers (red arrows)
anneal that are extended
by the DNA polymerase
(light green circles), to
give shorter DNA
products (green lines),
which themselves are
After P.C.R we will allow that amplified dna for
gel-electrophoresis then we match the bands or
sequence of the customers D.N.A with the
respected D.N.A or parent D.N.A.
By observing the base pairs sequence we can
easily tells about the relation between the two
persons.
For every samples we will follow the same
procedure.
 The copies of D.N.A are then allowed for gel electrophoresis.

 Figure : Ethidium bromide-stained PCR products after

gel electrophoresis. Two sets of primers were used to amplify
a target sequence from three different tissue samples. No
amplification is present in sample #1; DNA bands in sample
#2 and #3 indicate successful amplification of the target
sequence. The gel also shows a positive control, and a DNA
ladder containing DNA fragments of defined length for sizing
the bands in the experimental PCRs.
For example:
If we want to match father, mother
and son D.N.A then we will get some
bands as shown

Figure 4: Electrophoresis of PCR-

amplified DNA fragments. (1) Father.
(2) Child. (3) Mother. The child has
inherited some, but not all of the
fingerprint of each of its parents,
giving it a new, unique fingerprint.
Marketing Strategy
First to launch my kit, I will contact the nearby
lab, with their help, I launch my kit in the
market. Before that, I will lay some ground
rules for the lab:
For first 2 weeks (approx) I would want to
launch my kit ‘free of cost’ in the market.
I will take their workers for my help and they
will be paid by you (lab) only.
After two weeks I will start charging the
customer which will totally be mine and I would
give 35% of my income to the lab.
By doing this I will get some fund and
experience. After that I will start contacting the
big pharmaceutical companies to launch my kit
on a commercial scale.
I will make deal with the company regarding
the sales of my kit under their banner name. In
exchange to this I would as them to supply me
with their chemicals.
The approximately break time event of my kit
will be nearly about one month.
The overall cost for completing one test will be
Profit-The Math
From my free camp and also from the lab
experience, I came to know that a minimum of
10-20 customer s will be my client every
month. So if we take an average then I can
easily earn 3500*15=Rs 52,500 . For my work
at commercial scale I need at least eight
workers, so if I pay Rs.3000 to each person,
then in a month I have to spend Rs.24000 on
them and for the company I would give 30% of
my income that will be nearly about Rs 9000
per month and my net profit will be Rs 19000
(approx).
This is very low comparing it with any other lab
whether foreign or in India.
By doing the market survey I found that the
famous institute like CDFD(center for dna
fingureing and diagnostic), whose base is in
Hyderabad, are working on this type of
diagnostic kit and are charging Rs.5000 per
sample, which is quite higher than my charge.
So once people know about my kit then I would
be able to easily expand my work.
After working there, I will expand my work by
contacting the branches of my company which
are situated in other states. It will be helpful to
expand my business.
Problems That Can
Arise
There workers can steal by techniques so for
that I will patent my kit so that I will be secure
by law.
Future Aspects
My kit will click in the market due to its
economic pricing and efficiency. Speaking
ethically, I would be approaching a lab to do it
so the lab will be taking care of the ethical side
of my kit, with the help of their own ethical
committee which almost every lab has a permit
of and consults before taking up the work.
Conclusion
I think my kit would
be a hit in the market
because this is one-
of-a-kind kit and is
unique. Not only is it
exciting to use, it
does provide man
with something
important and useful.
Everybody would be
eager to know
whether or not they
are suffering from any
disease, so that it is
cured or masked
before being
transferred to the
next generation. Also
people would be
eager to know about
their ancestral past
